Really made a difference to me on some games, but not others. Hard to tell why.

eg L4D2 didn't make much of a difference, but it was like pixel art vs da vinci in CSGO.
Really great in FFXIV, not noticeable in Assetto Corsa.
idk, some combination of AA/post processing.

5k Makes a big difference in everything, but frame rates yo.

I'd be upgrading to triple 4k, or double 21:9, if it wasn't for Rift/Vive being eternally "a few more months". :/

Gryffes, I know we had chatted a few times regarding the advantages to 21:9 1440p, but as I said the price was right. While not the situation for everyone, this is going to cost me about $20 out of pocket (unless you count the original purchase of my 1440p from almost a year ago) to the new monitor. I also have the free $$$ from Tiger. Worse case scenario is I sell this monitor for a slight loss and get another 1440p. I feel pretty confident in this purchase. As soon as I get it and can run some tests I'll report. Pray for a speedy delivery!!

Honestly 4k is overrated and I almost regret getting a 4k monitor. Maybe it's just my vision but I can barely tell a difference between it and 1080p and the scaling issues make it more trouble than it's worth, Windows just does not play nicely with 4k resolution most of the time. Aside from that there's almost no true 4k content yet for the foreseeable future so the only thing it can even make a difference in is games if your graphic cards are good enough in the first place to run it and if it doesn't have terrible scaling issues (like the user interface being illegibly small)

    It'll be a lot more noticeable on a 40" than a 24" or 27"

Yeah that 28" TN Acer was the bullshit! As I had said before, the only reason I tried it was because of the ease of return with Costco. Otherwise I would've never bought it. I'm really anticipating this 39"!!
