Final Fantasy 7 Remake (PC/PS4) - March 3rd, 2020

If Angeal and Genesis show up in some form it'll be through text or as secret bosses somewhere. Angeal is dead in FF7 and Genesis is also temporarily out. And before anyone mentions the flashback sequence let's not forget that Cloud is the narrator and I'm pretty sure he never met Genesis there. Heck we only know he was in the area because CC showed a cutscene of him talking to Sephiroth, even Zack wasn't present.
Maybe we'll get more for Zack? Maybe they'll put some sequences from CC in the game? But yeah, that's pretty much it. Anything else happens after the events of this game although I could see maybe some outfits and attacks as unlockable bonuses or DLC.

Well I know in Crisis Core, Zack met Cloud before Angeal died, so it wouldn't be surprising if he at least knew of the guy (since some of the 1st Classes had their own fan club, so).

If he was buds with Zack, he'd have at least some vague knowledge of them too.

It's Square Enix though; they could find some way to bring them in. For reasons.

If you have a PSP and are okay with some dated graphics, the game isn't too bad actually. But no, you don't need to know who any of these people are. You could probably easily youtube the CC story and get caught up quickly.

A modern average Android phone can run the PPSSPP emulator (controller recommended), CC plays perfect on it. Alternatively, just play it on the PC and download the ISO.

Just don't do the missions (maybe do some for the EXP) and you can plow through the game comfortably, nothing is challenging.



At the moment we have 3 versions of the Nibelheim flashback or how Seph went berserk:
Cloud's memory (FF7)
Zack's point of view (Crisis Core)
Turk's report (Last Order)

It'll be interesting to see what direction they'll go with it this time, or would they reuse one of the above.

Still, we don't know the complete details yet; for all we know the game could go in its own direction while loosely basing/following the original game.

Lastly, I do wonder if the additional Turks (showcased in Last Order, Before Crisis and 1 made it to Crisis Core) would be included in some shape or form. I've not played Dirge of Cerb so I can't speak for that, but there's the dudes in that game to consider too.

Gahhh the game has so many loose/extra things that they can possibly bring in I dunno how it'll all play out. It's slightly mind blowing to imagine what they might do.

You should play crisis core because it was actually a good game and ties in really well to the rest of the ff7 story.

CC tied into FF7 well, but I wouldn't go out of my way to play it. The story tied in well, you can spare yourself the dated graphics and save 15-25 hours by just reading the plot somewhere.

So weird seeing people complain about the graphics. I thought the gameplay always looked just fine, and the cutscenes were obviously amazing.

Graphics were great for a portable game when it originally came out. In 2017, they're nothing worth raving over, and certainly nothing worth playing when you can spend a fraction of the time youtubing or reading any relevant info.

It's just an experience that isn't a must play.

Amazing how you even know the drastic ending heading into the game and it still brought the feels.

I can see Genesis being some kind of new hidden boss and/or sidequest shit through some being temporarily awakened plot no jutsu. I can also see them adding Jade and Omega weapon for shits and giggles.

For those wanting an excuse to kick back and enjoy FF7 again - New Threat mod for FF7 got a few more updates that include now a side quest with a boss fight against Zach, and limit breaks are obtained through new scenario like quests.
