sorry, this made me laugh when i remembered about this kickstarter that came out a while back. apparantly square wheels CAN be better than round!
Just wait for it.
New FF7 finally releases. It'll be good overall, great in some areas, and questionable in others. A good amount of people will love the game and there will be a good handful that are underwhelmed overall.
They'll "patch" certain chaper(s)/episode(s).
We'll get DLC like "Episode Tifa," Episode Barrett," and "Episode Aeris."
FF7 will re-release as some bundle of all of it's Episodes including all previous DLC and some new DLC like "Episode Zack," "Episode Vincent," and "Episode Sephiroth."
Then most of the people who were previously underwhelmed will be happier.
Sound familiar?
Tbh we're more likely to get ridiculous costume pack / vehicle skin DLC for this game than character episodes. Paper dolls is gonna be the new FF7 meta. Just think of how many different outfits you can dress these beloved, classic characters in! Ski bunny Cloud... Military fatigues Barret... Stripper Tifa... Nyancat Red XIII... and so much more!
I like that people complain like this but also have probably bought all the FFXV shit. They'll do it if it works you know, I'm hesitant to buy Royal Edition or the next season pass because I'm pretty sure they want their business model to be like that.
I'm seeing a couple things possible here.
I feel like they got into this and realized they couldn't/shouldn't do it - once they changed the combat system that was it, it was going to be a different game.
They know, we know, if they just polish the graphics and release some 4k polished HD version like all of these other games that are having it done they will make millions. Enough to fund whatever next project they want to do.
Changing the combat system probably gave them a lot of ideas and made them realize there's the possibility for multiple game releases to double and triple dip on the project. Create a new game or spinoff using this combat system and still have the option of releasing an HD version people have been biting at the bit for.
I hate how much I want to play through those episodes lol. Episode Sephiroth would just be like a speed run of the game. Starting in Midgar and freeing Jenova, then traveling the world and getting to the crater. All while being ridiculously overpowered, and getting to impale giant snakes and aeriths and shit.
Yeah I haven't bought these either because I'm pretty sick of buying a game I already bought. I bought the season pass already, on top of the base game, so I feel like I've paid my dues for the amount of content they've given. I'm waiting for everything to come out and then maybe if there's a sale or something I'll buy the rest of the new content.
And yeah I did buy the dlc outfits cause they were cheap and I was obsessed with the characters but man, the few outfits there are all basically suck despite the insanely high potential for dressing up pretty boys. Like come on, Noct's best outfit is still just his regular black T-shirt and pants.... they can't even do that right. And the shit they give you for free is all ass-ugly. So whatever. I do fully expect a ton of outfits for FFVII characters, and to be at once salty that they're spending time on that instead of making the game better and salty that XV didn't get better outfits lol.
They should just convert dena's FFRK record dungeons into a full game and call it the remake.
Uhhhhhhh.... lol https://powerup-gaming.com/2018/04/2...opment-delays/ tl;dr:
not sure how reliable. seems plausible given the lack of "news" and all that hiring.[UPDATE] Report – Square Enix abandoned all of CyberConnect 2’s work on FFVII Remake and started fresh Apr 26, 2018 | Posted by Leo Stevenson | News, PS4, Rumour, Xbox One
[UPDATE 2] –Dan Tsukasa’s ArtStation has also been deleted.
[UPDATE] – At the time of writing, Dan Tsukasa’s Twitter and Reddit accounts appear to have been deleted.
SE is a fucking mess lmao
Thats 4 years of work down the drain?
Considering how Project W was handled I'd believe it.
Well... This will spread like wild fire soon. It's only a rumor, but sounds very probable, it well be may legit, but not confirmed by anyone official that all the work at CC2 was tossed aside, other than knowing CC2 is/has no longer been working on the remake since last year, when it moved in-house. But seeing those deleted comments and a broken twitter link, seems to be indicating someone wanted to avoid trouble at work...if true.
The problem with a rumor like that is it sounds just absurd enough to be true.
It's no wonder that every project SE has touched since FFXII has been nickel and dimed with funds being siphoned from the few "successful" ventures and funneled into things like XV and this. Cancelations, remakes of remakes, complete restaffs all the time.
I'm not surprised honestly, kind of expected this when they took the project away from CC when they clearly stated they were not happy with the level of quality following the scope of the project.
Drain the funds of both successful MMOs to dump into bloated, expensive single player projects.
Seems par the course.
Yep, this shit won't come out til the PS6.
Just... just please don't fuck up KH3. It's so close. Just finish it neat and tidy, give me a nice full game with some closure on the Xehanort saga and let me have a peaceful 2018 with that and that alone please.
