In b4 everyone is getting their hopes up, and what we end up getting is FF7R as a PS5 launch title in mid 2021.

This right here is exactly why I haven't bought a playstation since PS2.

Was holding out hope they would release a remake of FFVII and just will not buy a new Playstation until they do.

I just installed it on my phone earlier this week. Installed emulator since the android port looked buggy AF to the point of not being able to get some characters in your party.

I prefer PC gaming but that would likely be the only game that makes me purchase a console, and yes I would purchase it again for PC when it finally came out. It's the same way with nintendo and zelda games. I have a Wii U just so I can play Breath of the Wild.

But for real, I look to DC as more the exception than the norm, with that particular art style erring toward fanservicey on both sides of the spectrum. Seeing fit chicks outside of fighting games that aren't meant to be some over barbarian stereotype is still something on the rare side for now.

Actually, there seems to be more shown later:
- the design for Tifa is true to her original design, face similar to AC, materia appear on her gloves
- some stuff about Gold Saucers not having all games available immediately, since they're replaying later events, they want it to feel more grand and be a break from the main game
- there are two clones of Red XIII you need to fight in Shinra HQ before he joins you (this sounds very out there)
- toned down aggressiveness of Cid towards Shera
- Cloud will have a dress and a wig, getting it on and off will be a fade scene
- Honey Bee requires gil to enter instead of a card
- Squatting mini game is back
- Two games both prices at 59.99

-Two parts: first one ends with Aerith's body sinking into the lake. Each part is full priced because it's a full game;
-Open world, multiple methods of transportation from the original (Tiny Bronco works in the same way), each location/town feels different and lived in, there are items on the field and chocobos after the Ranch;
-Summons works just like in the original, there's a new one (Amarok, wolf like creature that deals damage+Blind);
-Materia can be seen on almost every weapon and changing them will be reflected on your character. Armor doesn't show on the models.
-Combat's basic routine is chaining normal attacks (chip damage) to unleash a finisher (doesn't consume an ATB bar). Each weapon has a different finisher attack (Buster Sword has Punisher, Rune Blade has Cleave). And of course there's Limit Breaks.
-Magic will cost MP and ATB. You get more bars as the game goes on.
-HP shown in the trailer is not final.
-Playable at E3, demo released on PSN right after (PS+ required).
-To get Red XIII to join your party you have to defeat his clones Cobalt XIV and Indigo XV (scrapped concept from the original).
-Shinra HQ will have less floors you get to but each one will have stuff to do.
-Some enemies have been redesigned but most will be recognizable. Some have been removed (no ghosts in the train graveyard).
-Sephiroth's appearance is very limited before Kalm (you only hear his voice or see glimpses of him).
-Tifa's design if faithful to the original, her face looks more similar to her AC appearance but more western looking. You can see materia on her gloves.
-Gold Saucer will have some minigames that are unavailable when you first get there because they're part of future story segments. They want it to feel more grand and offer a break from the story.
- Cid doesn't smoke but you can tell that he does. They have toned down his aggressiveness towards Shera because they felt it was unnecessary.
-Honey Bee Inn requires gil to enter, Squatting minigame confirmed as well as Cloud cross dressing (fades to black as he gets in/out of the outfit).
-They told retailers to prepare for preorders.

They really enjoy pushing the narrative it will be a “full game” even though it’s just objectively false. But who knows, maybe it won’t feel like a 20$ episodic quarter-game they’re splitting up to milk a hardcore fan base? Haha...

Shit I just hope it’s good, but I’ll definitely wait on buying it.

Yes, this. They're saying each part will have around 40 hours worth of content which is on par with the entire original FFVII.
None of the leaks really mention anything regarding the extended gameplay yet, we only know they said Midgar will have more to explore and (I'm assuming) more stuff to do in it. There's also a lot of potential for many sidequests that were either dropped completely in the original (Red clones as an example) or barely there like Aerith's Great Gospel (please change that crap).

I hear you, but with all due respect I'll believe it when I see it. Its not like SE has earned my trust lately, or that they'll even finish this project considering the dumpster that was FFXV and its roadmap.

Or its 2 story related areas, northern crater part 1, gold saucer opens entirely, side quests galore, and northern crater pt2 before the end.

I just fear that with the original talk of 3 to 4 chapters, now down to 2, made them realize stretching this to 4 was a no go and 2 games at full $60 in SE's current state to me is throwing on the hazard lights.

I'm open to them proving me wrong, but i'll need to see how much of a "full game" part one is before biting. I dont think "full game" has ever meant the same thing to consumers as it does to developers...oddly enough dating back to FF7's original release.

the leak info sounds rad, i'd be hyped with two full games of FF7 personally. do people not remember the fact that the last disc is basically filler + northern caves lol, the fact that they're legit making two full games is sick and if it's executed even like..80% properly it'll be real good.
