FFT was the only game in memory where it literally forced me to restart the whole thing cuz I saved like a dumbass in one slot before the Wiegraf fight. That shit was hard, fuck all this pinky raising "wat wuz really hard" type conversations.

Not this fight, but the fight after (against his demon form) fucked me up badly. The only way I could win was by running away and using an ability that boosts my STR (or something like that, don't fully remember). I did this a shitton of times, so many times that I gained like 20 levels in that fight alone, which got me the victory.
The real problem was afterwards: the monsters levels were now 20 lvls above my other characters, which made random battles very hard for some time. Until I got everyone DRG and jumped the fuck out of everything. Even the final boss fight I just went all out DRG.
But yeah, FFT was hard, and at 2 points I considered giving up. Brilliant game.
I do remember returning to a save before that fight in FFT to go level other jobs besides using a bunch of fucking Knights lol My second playthrough was infinitely more enjoyable once I took the time to steal items and play with party setups with more synergy.
Now I want to go play FFT. It's been like a decade since I last screwed with it.
I just started a new WoTL game the other day. PPSSPP is da bes
yeah, I might start up a new game of it too. Mabye even beat it for once <_>; grinding in the game should be way more tolerable with turbo speed
Yeah I started it on my Vita and I really want an emulator speed boost lol
So I'm re-playing FF7 on the PS4 HD edition - going to do something I've always wanted to do but never had the patience for before: Get all the limit breaks besides the level 4 ones for Cloud Barret before Scorpion boss. I'm already at Satellite Beam for Barret! Cloud takes longer because he needs to kill more enemies.
I mean if that floats you boat. But I cant help but ask...why?
I've done it before too. It is easier to do with hyper, but just having those limits makes the game such a breeze for awhile and the extra exp was enough to let you focus on the fun of the game for awhile before having to go back to grinding for a bit.
Plus, why not.
I'm replaying on PS4 as well for trophies. Missed Ramuh. I was even following a missable items guide but I just skipped over that section.
Looks like only 1 master summon materia for me![]()
It's more of a personal achievement kind of thing. I'm also wondering if I will be able to get Bolt 2/Ice 2 before Scorpion boss - I can't remember how much AP was needed, but I believe that will take way longer.
I don't know if any of you have seen this before, but there is one person that took a year to get level 99 before Scorpion Boss:

Cool, now I'm going to go spend a year working in a Chinese sweat shop and call it "personal achievement."
GDI, all the discussion about 7 made me start replaying it again instead of waiting for the remake.
I recently replayed 7 (within the past 2 years) and finally did all the side stuff in it so thankfully I'm good and don't have to start a game!
Now 8 is a different story...I fucked up the first time because I ran headlong through the story without doing any grinding/sidequests and couldn't beat Ultimecia. Gotta give that game a good thorough replay sometime.
I totally understand the "do it to say I did it" thing up to a point. Getting all the stuff in the game is fine, setting an arbitrary goal to grind to level [whatever] before [random point in time] is less so... but it's a personal choice, can't begrudge how people want to waste their time. I waste mine playing XIV anyway :D
And that brings me to something that crossed my mind a few pages back when reading that each installment of VII remake will be "as much content as a full game". Well um...that's what they said about Heavensward too... I know they can't be compared too well because MMO vs single player game but this is SE we are talking about :{
Quoting to show what the UI looks like for mine atm. It's hiding some serious pixelation but it looks fine.
Spoiler: show
To be fair, a lot of this can be done with automation with a turbo controller and only the occasional check for hp. The higher the level, the less frequent the checks. I originally did most of this by rubber banding joysticks and leaving attack on auto. No, you don't stare at the screen for hours on end; that's retarded.
