Honestly think its dumb as hell for there to be scene blocks due to spoilers. Like, people shouldn't be watching a stream of a game if they don't want spoilers.

I agree on scene blockers being stupid unless its account info and or passwords
scene blockers...? wtf. Like. The streamer does that?
I believe I'll be compiling information on this game now. So much information in various places need to be condensed into one spot.
Seriously you guys are reading way too much into things. Nowhere did they say that stuff is getting censored or changed drastically or removed. I'd also like to point out that this is not 1997 anymore, rules change and graphical fidelity is on a whole different level.
Scenes that may have passed back then for a T rating may not pass this time around unless they're careful enough.
Can't we just get an M rating. i mean aeris does get stabbed, jenova has her head ripped off(Statue or otherwise), the cannon shoots the weapon straight in the face. honeybee inn and crossdressing on top of cid and barret's cussing up a storm. this was a pretty graphic game back in the day. Oh and lets not forget the minigame to get mog laid
I really hope they explain cloud's psychosis well in this game cause in the original it was like wtf?
Mog's House was the real end game.
It's also not meant for spoiler reasons, but for copyright reasons. Most companies block out recording cutscenes in general, but allow gameplay. To be fair this is likely because gameplay has a better argument for "transformative work" since its the player is actively participating.
Hmm, M-rating...

Yeah - So the gist is: Just put it at an M rating and let shit fly. They can't be worried about sales because "T would sell better than M" since one of the best selling games is GTA V so...
Why do they care about the T rating again? The people most vocal about this game are in their late 20s+, and the younger crowd is on CoD or GTA doing worse things. This is going to be rated M more than likely, imo.
It would be impossible for any scene in FFVII to get an AO rating even if it was a live-action film re-enacted to be 1:1 accurate, unless they were to literally show Cloud's butthole penetrated by the Honeybee Inn bros, which never happened in the original anyway. Rated M games have no problem selling, even to a younger audience, hence all the 7 year olds on Cowadooty. So there's really no need to censor anything at all except to avoid "offending" modern society's delicate feelings
I somehow doubt people at SE HQ in Japan share the same "oh it'll just sell anyway" sentiment. They will do what they feel like they need to do to maximize profit. And I'm sorry but it's more likely that some parent won't buy their kid a M rated game than it is that FF fanbois won't buy the game because scenes have been altered.
That's correct, but the two things aren't at all related. Say you throw that entire scene away, what are you left with? A game where you work with a self-proclaimed terrorist organization and help them bomb a facility inside a city, watch a girl get stabbed through the chest, and fight twisted abortions of science. The concern isn't that scene pushing it over the edge; it's already dove off the cliff.
Come on. You know America is cool with violence in media, but not any sex stuff.
The blood on the walls at shinra HQ and the sword stuck in president shinra was creepy the first time around man
And lets not forget the golden saucer with everyone shot up by dyne that they could never really show well in polygons
Idk why SE would want to appease to a younger generation who likely won't buy the game anyway because they all have the attention span of a gnat anyway. They probably would look at the game, say oh you just walk around this is boring, and never buy it anyway.
