well, depression from what i've read tends to fall into two categories, clinical and environmental. (and sometimes you have both!) if it's clinical you need medicine to deal with it, if its the environment you should probably talk to your situation with a professional who can help you deal with it, and if its both well, you need both routes.
That said, sometimes nothing seems to work... But i've head good things about studies done on shrooms combined with a proper setting putting the "reset button" on the brain, getting you out of a negative loop. that said, it's probably best not to self-medicate, especially alone and in an environment where you don't feel relaxed and secure. ;x
