It indeed was a mod and the group that did the whole thing is going to be releasing their tools, so I guess there's going to be a huge modding boom for the game

I admit it was fun and exciting. I was definitely quite convinced because of the modding community saying that it's not possible to do this level of modding which confidently made me think that it must be official dev work. I suppose the reuse of the voice lines and the chest gave it away somewhat, but it also was not inconceivable that bits of the game can be reused elsewhere. The little cutscene as you enter the church and also how authentic it kind of looked really did help seal the deal. It was only last night prior to the full reveal that when the cryptic screenshots were posted did I think that it must not be a mod because the personality of sadfutago had disappeared, but then also showing off imported assests from Drakengard 3 really also made me thought some sort of reveal was coming.

In this case now, the modding possibilities have been enormously expanded if one is able to import assets elsewhere. The exciting thing now is to see what might come out of it now.

They already did a Nier Gatcha and shut it down a few years back. I actually liked it because I got in at the end and the Story mode probably had 50 hours of content. <_<

Hopium here is that they will bring this game minus the gacha elements as a full on game similar to Octopath Traveler 0 otherwise why do/tease this haha

I believe Reincarnation is technically a sequel but I never played it or read up on its story. Lets see!
