    To be completely honest, Dark Knight looks like they're going to completely invalidate Paladin. They have everything Paladin has and more, plus cross-class skills.

    The only thing that makes Paladin different is they still have Hallowed Ground and ease of use since they don't have to worry about MP management. I don't see any worry for Warrior in particular, but Paladin's gonna fall behind, especially since Sword Oath won't match Dark Side or Deliverance.

    I mean, have you seen the Warrior changes? I don't think DRK has any hope of competing with WARs damage at all now. They also don't get any good cross class skills since they use Gladiator/Marauder. DRK only gets a two damage buffs that I can see which is 10% Haste and Darkside (15% damage), the former of which makes you burn through TP faster and we're yet to see the true extent of MP management on the class and how much uptime we'll be able to have on Darkside. The rest of their skills are pretty average as far as damage goes, with the only standout being Souleater which is 260 potency but a huge 400 potency if you have the MP to throw up both Darkside and Dark Arts, both of which drain that MP. Just for comparisons sake Warrior now has Deliverance (5%), Maim (20%), Berserk (50%) and Internal Release (new crit changes make this better than ever if we stack crit). You can easily throw out 3 Fell Cleaves in the duration of a single Berserk, which is nutso. Warrior is also gonna have absolutely zero TP problems now and is guaranteed to have the slashing debuff from Storm's Eye available at all times.

    I do think DRK MT + WAR OT will be the dream team now though, especially if Reprisal stacks with Storm's Path.

    You're right about their lack of real offensive buffs, triple fell cleaves will be fun that's for sure. I'm just a little nervous. Dark Arts seems like it's intention is to compete with those buffs.

    Yeah Shield oath PLD is now even further back. I'm not too worried about sword oath PLD with Goring slash (540 pot) and royal authority (340 pot).

    Did you happen to check the tool tip for Sword oath and see if it changed?

    So it looks to me like MCH's basic opening Gauss Barrel rotation should be something like:

    (QS)
    HE/RS/B4B
    deploy turret
    Overcharge (enemy phys or magic damage taken +5%)
    [start battle]
    Hot Shot (your physical damage +5%, 30s)
    Wildfire (stores 25% of damage dealt over next 15s and deals again at end, oGCD)
    Lead Shot (30s DoT)
    Ricochet (100 or maybe 400pot oGCD? unclear)
    Split Shot (combo 1)
    Gauss Round (200pot oGCD)
    Slug Shot (combo 2, instant with ammo)
    Reassemble (oGCD, next WS is crit)
    Quick Reload (ammo+1, TP+50)
    Clean Shot (combo 3, instant with ammo)
    Blank (100pot oGCD knockback, presuming knockback doesn't work on anything that matters)

    I think the timers should be fine but it's a little hasty.

    What? You realize it takes a GCD to apply a DoT too right? Dark Knights DoT is also 500 potency, not 1200... 100 base damage, 40 potency DoT with 10 ticks. For comparison Fracture is 300 potency, 100 base damage and a 20 potency DoT with 10 ticks.

    As for PLD changes, according to the patch notes only Shield Oath and Shield Swipe changed for Paladin. The former just had 5% hit rate added to it and Shield Swipe now has an enmity+ modifier, the damage/TP cost is identical to 2.55.

    Edit: Oh, Riot Blade is 60 TP now too.

    Meh, so gotta pray for some super low delay weapons or else PLD is the new DRG.


    At least PLD can use shield swipe now from the start and not have to worry about enmity. But still until content is sword oath tankable PLD is a weak option.

    Well, BRDs can enjoy "mudra" lag now, as the activation of oGCD abilities has always varied depending on connection speed. It wasn't an issue when you could weave them in between GCD because you weren't wasting any time waiting around (unless your ping was really high). Now, however, you will be. Welcome to the party!

    That's just a correction in the wording to match what it already does. Mechanically speaking, Sword Oath is unchanged.

    I don't see Paladin MT beating Dark Knight unless you need Hallowed Ground that badly. The only saving grace for Paladin OT is Dark Knight is limited by MP, making them much more burst-like, while Paladin's DPS will likely be stronger than Dark Knight's overtime. However, Paladin gets manhandled by Warrior OT now.
