This is pretty much what I thought about it too. Given how even having to move a fraction of an inch badly fucks their casting, ontop of Manawall being on a two minute recast, it didn't really seem all that OP. I guess the devs don't like BLM having a reliable and useful means of mitigating their attempts to shit on them!
Then again, they've really made a number of questionable decisions in this update, and this is definitely up there.

I sometimes wonder wtf was going on at SE HQ when they had to do zone maintenance on an unused zone a couple times in XI's first decade prior to Legion.
I think the general consensus was that it was the combat testing bed for the devs, but that shouldn't be relevant to the public servers.

Their new rotation is going to have to dish out some hella damage to offset extra movement in general to keep them up numbers-wise with melee/non-casters.
Any stats on healing stuff btw? The one i170 pic of an AST's stats page had a laughably low ACC (370ish something) which worries me for healer deeps outside of guaranteed landing stuff like SF/Bio2+1.

As a BLM main, this is what's been on my mind since that live demonstration they did of all the new abilities. Enochian's cooldown was changed to 60 seconds (it was 90 when they were showing it before) but the duration is still only 30 seconds and Blizzard 4 still refreshes it, though whether or not it still gives 5 seconds less with each refresh is still up in the air.
While the reduction in the cooldown timer helps for keeping it up, the 30 second duration still concerns me. In the demo of BLM Yoshi-P used Ley Lines > Swiftcast Fire III > Enochian > Fire 4 > Fire 1 > Fire 4 > Blizzard 3 > Thunder 3 > Blizzard 4. Yep, that's 3 Fire spells. Granted, he probably wasn't using the new optimal rotation. To make matters worse, Enochian wore off before Blizzard 4 landed so he lost the buff and he didn't even have to move. With the Manawall nerf, Black Mages are going to be moving more than ever in an actual fight. That is really tight timing with only 3 Fire spells. I assume convert will have to be used on the second rotation for when Enochian is off cooldown or there won't be enough time left on Enochian to refresh it again with Blizzard 4. This makes me wonder where the room to use procs or Flare or anything that isn't Fire 1, 3, or 4 is.
I don't think it's time to get upset or anything, but I for sure am side-eyeing what they've done with BLM on paper. It better hit like a fucking truck or it's going to be left behind very quickly.

Which DPS deserves this most? Will PLD+AST be the new king and queen of speed runs? Speculate.

That's kind of awesome. I didn't even catch that it had lyrics the first time through because I was just skimming through songs. That said, songs with lyrics are generally meant for really important fights, so my money is on it being for: me being wrong and shit

WAR Berserk obviously, strongest buff in the game! Hell, use it on a WARs opener and they have 15 extra seconds of Berserk, Raging Strike and Unchained, probably really is one of the biggest DPS jumps you might get if you have an MT WAR. If not probably throw the first one on whoever you expect to be the best DPS then just use the latter ones on whoever has buff(s) up when it comes off cooldown. If HoTs actually don't break Divine Veil it might even be worth throwing on a PLD MT. Divine Seal Regen/Medica2 on them and then pop Divine Veil and extend it all by 15/20 seconds. Dude just straight up won't be taking damage for a while.
Someone make an extended of it (~44c7813c - bgm_ex1_ban_ravana_02 filenames)! Or we can just wait for the eventual soundtrack release...![]()
