    Ravana Extreme

Quest: Thok around the Clock (Rising Stones)
    Requires: Bismarck Extreme
Drops: One weapon and one token
    Clearable in iLV155 gear + iLV170 weapons.

    Avatars

Ravana uses a different avatar for each phase. The Bloodlust meter under the Duty objective indicates progress to the next phase. With the exception of Scorpion Avatar, you may push Ravana through phases faster by inflicting damage to raise the Bloodlust meter. The three avatars are Scorpion, Dragonfly, and Beetle. Each has a different property and skill set.

    Scorpion
    • Ravana takes increased damage, but gains enhanced attack power.
    • Liberation Circle [Unofficial name]: AoE magic damage. Indicated by a purple circle.
    • Liberation Charges [Unofficial name]: Linear physical damage. Inflicts Physical Vuln Up. The charge either begins where Ravana is currently positioned or where he “marked” (You’ll see this later in the guide).
    • Liberation sequences (Will detail throughout the phases)

    Dragonfly
    • The Seeing [Right/Left/Wing]: Creates a barrier around Ravana. When struck, this barrier retaliates with "Revengeance" which inflicts slow and knockback damage. When The Seeing Right is active, attack from the left. When The Seeing Left is active, attack from the right. When The Seeing Wing is active, attack from the front.
    • Blinding Blade: Frontal physical cleave. Damage mitigated by the number of targets hit.
    • Atma-Linga: AoE magic damage.
    • Tapasya: Multi-Strike physical conal that flashes light from the ground. Avoid the second strike by moving to the side.
    • Warlord Shell: A stoneskin-effect. If this stoneskin is not broken quickly, Ravana will use Warlord Flame which inflicts 20k+ knockback damage.
    • Chandrahas: Ravana’s super. Damage varies by performance during the Gana DPS check.
    • Laughing Moon: Used during Chandrahas only if a sword spawns during the Gana phase.

    Beetle
    • Ravana's defense is enhanced
    • Pillars of Heaven: Inflicts AoE damage and knockback. Damage increases closer to the center of the AoE (Ravana)
    • Laughing Rose: AoE magic damage. Mitigated by the number of targets struck. Indicated by a white fire icon.
    • Surpanakha: A 180 degree magic conal attack.
    • The Rose of Conviction: Spawns several orbs that tether to random party members. They detonate after a short period.
    • The Rose of Hate: Directional AoE. Indicated by an orange ground marker.

    Phase 1: Dragonfly Avatar
    • Blinding Blade
    • The Seeing ???
    • Atma-Linga
    • Tapasya
    • Atma-Linga
    • Blinding Blade
    • The Seeing ???
    • Atma-Linga [LOOP]

Mitigate the Blinding Blade either by stacking two tanks in front of Ravana or by turning Ravana into the party (Shiva Ice Brand style). Avoid hitting The Seeing ??? barrier and not much else is significant here.

Phase 2: Scorpion Avatar (87% HP)

    Prelude to Liberation
    • AoE damage that inflicts vulnerability stacks
    • Floor patterns directed at party members
    • Flame circles that inflict a heavy burn effect (Not leechable)
    • Liberation Circles

The charge time for Prelude to liberation is a burn phase. Since he also takes enhanced damage here, it is recommended you save cooldowns for this part. Remember to avoid the AoE damage by running to the edge of the arena.

    Liberation
    • Ravana attacks all sides of the arena except his rear
    • Ravana creates four clones that lineup around the arena
    • Each clone charges through the center in the order they appeared (Always either clockwise or counterclockwise)

Stand at his rear during the charge time. Like before, this is a burn phase. After the cast, run to the center and locate Ravana when he lands. Run along the edge of the arena, avoiding charges, similar to Ifrit EX.

    Phase 3: Dragonfly Avatar
    • Warlord Shell
    • The Seeing ???
    • The Seeing ???
    • Tapasya
    • Atma-Linga
    • Blinding Blade
    • The Seeing ???
    • Atma-Linga
    • Tapasya
    • Atma-Linga
    • Blinding Blade
    • Atma-Linga
    • Tapasya
    • Blinding Blade
    • The Seeing ???
    • Atma-Linga
    • Atma-Linga
    • Chandrahas

Break the Warlord Shell stoneskin. Defeat the Ganas as they spawn. If left up too long, they will spawn a sword. Each sword will be used towards an attack called "Laughing Moon." This ability inflicts 3min Vuln Up stacks for each sword present, so you want to avoid letting any spawn. When he begins Bloody Fuller, he is about to use Chandrahas.

    Phase 4: Beetle Avatar
    • Pillars of Heaven
    • Laughing Rose
    • Surpanakha
    • Surpanakha
    • Surpanakha
    • Surpanakha
    • The Rose of Conviction
    • The Rose of Hate
    • Surpanakha (Repeat until phase push)

Locate where the fence remains unbroken and stack there for Pillars of Heaven. Immediately run to the center and soak Laughing Rose as a group. After this, he will target someone with a prey icon. Pass prey to the MT. After the fourth Surpanakha, stack where you were for Pillars of Heaven. When the spheres tether, run along the edge of the arena as a group and avoid their damage.

    Phase 5: Scorpion Avatar

    Swift Liberation
    • Places markers above four players
    • Each marker has a specific number of sword (Up to four swords)
    • Liberation charge at the player with the single-sword icon. He will do this for the two-sword icon party member as well, but he will begin his charge at the position he struck the single-sword icon player. He continues this until he has struck all four party members.
    • Floor patterns, in the shape of an X, stretch from North to South and East to West.
    • Liberation Circles on players that did not have sword-icons

Mark the North of the arena (A), the East (B), and the South (C). Assign the one-sword icon to (A), the two-sword icon to (B), etc. When he dives at the one-sword icon person (A), all people without an icon should run to the center. After marked people get charged, they should run to the center [Renavi: Person marked at (A) can move to (D) before moving to the center]. When the charges have finished, run to the area between the markers. It is best if you assign two people to each area (Similar to Shiva).

    Final Liberation
    • Inflicts two players with the prey debuff
    • Ravana creates two clones. Each selects a prey-marked party member and Liberation charges at them from the center. Like the charge from Swift Liberation, he will inflict Physical Vuln Up and mark the location where he struck the prey-marked party member. The prey marker does not disappear yet.
    • Liberation Circle icons go out
    • Ravana clones charge at prey targets from the marked location
    • Ravana uses a Lunar Dynamo-like move quickly followed by a center AoE

Send one prey target to (A) and the other to (C). The rest of the party goes to (B); use this chance to shield the group with either Succor or Deployment Adlo. Your goal is going to be picking up Prey from the people at (A) and (C) so that they are not hit by the second charge. You can send anyone from the (B) stack, but anyone with Prey+Circle will need a shield unless they are geared or are a tank. Whoever picks up the prey at (A) needs to go between (A) and (D). Whoever picks up the prey at (C) needs to go between (C) and (D). Anyone without a mark at this point can use the center as a safe zone. Stack at the center for Lunar Dynamo and run out of the center immediately after.

    Phase 5: Dragonfly Avatar

    • Warlord Shell
    • The Seeing ???
    • Atma-Linga
    • The Seeing ???
    • Blinding Blade
    • Atma-Linga
    • Tapasya
    • Atma-Linga

    • Tapasya
    • Blinding Blade

Same deal as before but without adds and more AoE damage.

I think this was just made to be an e-peen thread as there is zero information about the fight in the OP.

I'm not in the screenshot, so I can't offer more than what I have been told about the quest/loot/item level you can clear it in. I'm working on Bismarck personally, but it's good for people to know if they want to try Ravana.

Guide is up now. As noted in the OP, I'll see if I can think of a better way to present this, but I will have to sit down and think about the encounter some more. I only finished the encounter myself last night and have been pushing FC members through Bismarck until about an hr ago. If you have any suggestions on improvement, PM or post and I'll see what I can do.

Easiest way I found out to managed Final Liberation was to just give the preys to tanks, have pld hallowed the first one and mitigate through with warrior.

It's double hit first hit deals the physical vulnerability up, but if you get hit 0 you won't get the debuff, crit adlo is op here.

Updating guide for more detail and new strategies. Old guide kept here in case people preferred the more brief explanation.

    Spoiler: show
    Phase 1

    Enemies: Ravana

    • Blinding Blade: Resonance type cleave (Both tanks should soak this; one occurs near the beginning of the encounter)
    • Atma-Linga: AoE damage
    • Tapasya: Mult-strike attack that you can avoid by moving to the side (Except the first hit)

    Stances
    • The All-seeing Wing: Inflicts slow + Nullifies weaponskills from the all sides except the front
    • The All-seeing Right: Inflicts slow + Nullifies weaponskills from all sides except the left
    • The All-seeing left: Inflicts slow + Nullifies weaponskills from all sides except the right

    Phase 2

Enemies: Ravana, Spirit Gana, Moon Gana

    • Ravana readies Prelude to Liberation
    • During Prelude to Liberation cast time, Ravana takes increased damage
    • Before the cast completes, run to the edge of the arena to avoid his AoE damage
    • Run to the center to bait flame lanes (idk name, just calling them that) to the center
    • Purple circles on marked players will appear (Similar to Odin's Gungnir attack). Have selected members spread out without running into ground flames (They inflict burn debuff)
    • Ravana readies Liberation
    • Stack behind Ravana between the hilts of his blade
    • Move to the center until Ravana appears on the field
    • When Ravana lands, he will duplicate himself in either a clockwise or counterclockwise pattern
    • Ravana will begin dashes through the center beginning where he first landed and going either clockwise or counterclockwise (Similar to Ifrit EX dashes)

    Phase 3

Enemies: Ravana, Spirit Gana, Moon Gana

    • Ravana readies Warlord Shell
    • This creates a mini-DPS check similar to Titan's heart; you have to break his stoneskin or he will use a high damage AoE
    • During this, he will use the All-Seeing stances as well
    • After the shell breaks, he will use Tapasya into Atma-Linga into Blinding Blade
    • Spirit and Moon Ganas will spawn (DPS check); defeat the various Ganas
    • Ravana readies Bloody Fuller
    • Ravana will use an attack named Chandrahas; the damage will vary by how well you did during the Gana DPS check. Note that it is possible the attack will not KO you, but if multiple swords have spawned from the Gana's spells, they will inflict Vuln debuff on PT members.

    Phase 4

    Enemies: Ravana

    • Parts of the arena's gate will break
    • Ravana readies Pillars of Heaven
    • Pillars of Heaven: Knockback + Damage that increases closer to the center (Similar to heavensfall)
    • Ravana will mark someone for Laughting Rose (Whitefire icon)
    • Deals damage based on the number of targets affected (Similar to Thermionic Beam); have members stack to mitigate the damage
    • Ravana will mark someone with Prey
    • Have the prey target stack on the MT to pass the prey similar to brand
    • Ravana readies The Rose of Hate
    • The Rose of Hate: Tethers orbs onto party members. Orbs will shortly detonate and deal damage
    • To handle this mechanic, have the PT stack at the edge and then move clockwise or counterclockwise as the orbs draw near

    Phase 5

    Enemies: Ravana

    • Ravana Swift Liberation
    • Swift-Liberation: Four sword icons will appear above random PT members. The number of swords in this icon will vary from 1-4. Ravana will charge at PT members in order of the icons (He will charge from 1 Sword icon to 2 Sword icon to 3 Sword icon etc)
    • The markers do not act like divebombs. You have to sit there and let Ravana attack you if you have an icon before returning to the PT
    • To handle this mechanic, have people with icons spread along the arena so that Ravan basically does a ring around the edge of the arena (This lets the center be a safespot after the first dive)
    • A plus sign will appear along the ground of the arena that inflicts burn debuff
    • Simultaneously, purple circles from earlier will reappear

    Phase 6

    Enemies: Ravana

    • Ravana readies Final Liberation
    • Final Liberation: Two preys go out and then three purple circles go out. When the purple circles go out, people with prey will receive a physical damage taken up debuff.
    • The trick SE makes here is the following: People with prey will have physical damage taken up. If prey goes off on these people, they will take enhanced dmg (KOs them basically). In order to prevent this, you need to make sure you take prey off them before the prey goes off, but AFTER the prey targets have received physical damage taken up debuff. Do note that since the purple circles are magical, people targeted by that can technically take the prey if they are shielded or have enough HP.
    • He uses a Lunar Dynamo-esque ability into circluar AoE centered around Ravana (Run in and run out)
    • Warlord shell > Blinding > Atma-Linga >Tapasya (THIS IS DIFFERENT FROM EARLIER)
    • Pillars of Heaven
    • Laughing Rose
    • The Rose of Hate
    • Random Liberation move (We only saw this phase once, so it could just always be Liberation, but probably random)

Might adjust guide later, but it's very difficult to write out terminology-wise since the mechanics names depend on the liberation used. For instance, the "purple circles" do damage named after the liberation that summons them.

Can I get a guess on accuracy you need as a tank? Wouldn't mind flank/caster as well.

i think you need 580 to be safe, even for melees because you got to attack from front sometimes as well

I think our melee was 576 accuracy and didn't report any misses(from the front although small sample size), although I didn't check the parse.

We typically have melee using 57X since they have to attack from the front for The Seeing Wing. I'll ask our BLM what he used for accuracy when he is awake.

Edit: He doesn't remember since he geared out quickly (Currently at 590 ACC).

For Phase 5, have you guys' had any problem with the first person being hit by the second dive a lot? We just changed it to where they dodge right instead but not really sure how literally every person going to the first spot can be too slow to dodge it. I haven't personally been targeted by the first one yet but after seeing them all be hit, hard to believe they're all just too slow.

We had some people not running soon enough, but they became used to the timing and moved sooner (You can move a bit sooner than when you're actually struck). If dodging right improved your avoidance, I would stick with that though. It's possibly the better strat anyways.

This is what my group does, moves diagonal and right as soon as the charge happens

Is Slaughter just unavoidable raid-wide damage like Einherjar/Absolute Zero?

Added Renavi's trick to the guide. I don't see any attacks named Slaughter, so unless you misread the name, it probably is avoidable damage.

A three-minute Paint illustration I made for Swift Liberation since people in my group were initially having trouble with not getting hit a second time after taking their one mandatory hit.

You can cheese Swift Liberation pretty hard with a WAR + SCH. Auto-crit an Adlo with Defiance + Conv up (using Insight) and then spread it to the party. The dashes will do zero damage and thus not give the stack, giving everyone a huge margin of error. It'll probably be fixed soon, but it's pretty silly right now.

Probably wont see any job patches until 3.01 where balances actually will matter, or 3.02 when savage is released.

You can do it even without auto crit, just adlo warrior and have them use vengeance and have paladin hallowed, will do the exact same thing, then just put both tanks to 30 degree angle from each other and watch how mechanic becomes meaningless
