To the controller users out there, what do your hotbars look like? I'm running out of space very quickly.

Everyone is, but don't worry I'm sure that hotbar space solution is coming any year now.
Spoiler: show
Still tweaking mine. Don't have the game on so can't take a screenshot, but (I'm using a 360 controller on PC)

..And that's all I remember off the top of my head. I can't remember the exact placement, but I also have my cross-class skills on that bar along with salted earth.
Generally, I try to keep the first hotbar for combos I use pretty regularly.
Second hotbar is for stuff I use somewhat regularly, but may have a longer CD in most cases.
I've tried playing on a keyboard in this game, and it's just..not good for me. However, it's sadly also the main reason I played BLM for so long; just less keys to deal with.
New quest from Lolorito. If DRK gathered the souls of the undead lalafells who were sold into child sex slave rings and used them to become a god when a boss favored its mechanics, then it probably wouldn't be so bad.

So... overheals don't count towards curing Walking Dead? I think Holmgang is better than LD in every conceivable way. LD has longer cooldown, more healing required immediately, and is borderline useless without a Bene (in 4man especially, though if you have to use it in a 4man idk).
I use two crossbar sets, one focused on Main-Tanking, the other focused on Off-Tanking/DPS and I switch them with R1 depending the situation, example could be during Bismark EX, low HP add phase/bismark shell I'm on OTDPS, then I swap to MT when its about tanking/swapping sea-snakes. etc. It works fine for me, you could try it & see how comfy it is for you.
I was thinking of doing the same thing, but it seems like there are a lot of abilities that would be used universally. Currently I have R2 contain my core GCD moves as well as a stun and DA. L2 contains mostly offensive/defensive buffs. For hotbar 2 I put it in the stance triggers and any sort of AoE move as well as the crappy defensive cooldowns (foresight, convalescence, etc.)
got 60 yesterday, figured carve & spit was gonna be like ninja's 3 hit skill the way it was worded, bit boring that it's just 1 total hit
anyway, i find it a bit silly that dark arts+C&S is basically the only way to go, because of how low the MP recovery is and the potency gain from dark arts is too good. even though it costs 1768 mana+884 opportunity cost, you gain 350 potency, which is basically 7.6 mana (rounded) per potency. in comparison, DA soul eater compared to delirium combo is 14.7 mana per potency (compared to no DA soul eater, 12.6)
the DA system could have been cool, but the uses are really straightforward and not really very.. involved or interesting
Yes, its hard to keep it clean and logic, if you have an easy access to a KB, you can use number keys or F1 to F12 (I do use these too) but its more risky in situation which ask you to react faster, my advice would be to assign things such as Scourge there, but this is coming from a funny left handed player so you might want to picture it 1st.![]()
I'm gonna be pissed if they don't fix DA tomorrow, because DA+Abyssal spam with Blood Price sounds like the closest thing to Zerk+Bloodbath+Overpower spam.
I'm a WAR main on controller and somehow I got comfortable playing with Controller + KB hybrid. Works okay on WAR.
With DRK there's way more button mashing like BRD so I'm having controller space issues and KB isn't really an option since that's too many times my hand comes off the controller.
What I play on doing is adding Provoke, Unmend, and other less used oGCD actions to L2+R2. This is the first job in the game where I've felt compelled to use that option.
Why do you not gain health from Unleash + blood bath though? THis is so annoying.
I didn't know there was an L2+R2 option. I may have to rework my bars. Currently i have an initial hate set on one bar with active abilities there, with more utilized abilities on main bar. Have to experiment later now.
There's a hotbar for R2 -> L2, and also L2 -> R2. So in theory you have an additional 16 slots, but if you're clumsy like me you set R2 -> L2 and L2 -> R2 to be the same thing.
I don't even know why they bothered making DRK deal magic damage anyway. It still scales with attack power so it's ultimately pointless in the grand scheme of things. It's the same thing they had with NIN and Ninjutsu except I can see the logic behind that as NIN has their own slashing debuff which would make physical Ninjutsu stronger than they wanted. It also allowed them to change the Kiss stances to physical damage only as a pseudo nerf to ninjutsu damage.
Maybe that's why they're magic damage. SE had a contingency plan in case DRK damage was too high. They would just nerf the 15% damage bonus from Darkside to 15% physical damage only.
Fracture's 220pot is I think less than the average pot/GCD of any of our combos though. So even that's not really great.
Souleater combo, no DKA: 150, 250, 260. total 660 / 3 = 220
Power combo: 150 > 220 > 300, total 670 / 3 =~223
Delirium combo: 150, 250, 280. total 680 / 3 = ~226
Souleater combo, DKA: …, …, 400. Total 800 / 3 = ~266
It also costs more TP anyways.
