It takes a DRK around 2 minutes and 20 seconds to run out of TP.
I have at least a bit of hope for DRK on savage Alex. We get Dark Mind up for every single tank buster so we can stack it with whatever else is available. DM + Shadowskin or DM + Shadow Wall is a hell of a lot of mitigation.
Drk needs like a flat gain move, ogcd 120sec cd restore 200tp 500mp or something like that. It would alleviate a lot of the nonsense that happens.
I could see a move that restores a chunk of MP but under Dark Arts it restores TP instead. 60s cooldown restores enough MP for a single Dark Arts or 200 TP under Dark Arts.
i still like TP on tier 1 c/s.
but maybe it can be reworked to a flat 300 potency. with MP on tier 1 and TP on tier 2.
That would be fine, actually it would be cool if they reworked soul survivor to something like convert from blm but with tp/mp
delirium for TP gain because who the fuck uses that WS anyway....
any serious progression group should have a MNK anyway, and if your group doesnt have a MNK and need a drk to come in for that debuff, so as to drop a more superior pld/war
then....
you r fucked either way right?
So I did my own testing last night to compare...
Full Blood Weapon uptime I ran TP dry at exactly 2min 20secs as stated above.
Full time Grit was about 4 minutes before I ran dry which wasn't bad. However, a good tank will stance dance when able and so this number will be lower.
Damn Abyssal Drain is awesome in trash pulls. Too bad I only every get like 2 buffed ones or maybe 3 if Im getting hit a ton. It's annoying when I am in a situation like the first two pulls of Vault, I unleash twice to catch everything pop blood price do 2 buffed abyssal drains....Now at this time I chill to gain mana but instead the whm stuns everything with two holy's then they are all dead. Im sitting on nothing and have to grab the next pack :/
Not looking forward to the let down of sole survivor. Drk enmity gain is off the charts though, that is one thing that is nice.
EDIT: Just read below post and wondered why anyone thought that move would be good so I went to re-read it on wiki. I totally thought that move was only about marking a player, and when they get KO'd you get the gains. SO it is actually not that terrible, and kind of unique as is.
sole survivor is ok. wish it were 90s cooldown instead of 2m but it's ok. kind of really need to make use of it when possible.
Sole is actually really nice. It's like a marked, better Mercy Stroke. I feel it "completes" DRK's dungeon toolkit and it's a shame it only really comes into play for overleveled Vault, Library, and experts.
i can't believe that mercy stroke hasn't been reworked all this time, save for the cd reduction. how can they not see this shit?
also i would say that SS has a lot more use than in dungeons. bismark, alex 1-4 all can get some pretty good mileage out of it. ravana for a bit. i just hate that it's 2 minutes long.
The only thing that sucks about Sole Survivor is that there's a delay between cast and the actual debuff landing so you can't try to snipe something that's just about to die. On the other hand, in A1 the adds actually take a long ass time to die (after the aoe cast) so that's the special case where you should try to apply it as close as possible to its death.
Yeah you can find a lot of use for Sole Survivor even outside of dungeons. Works on Bismarck adds, Chitlin, Ravana butterflies, adds in a1, everything in a2, tornado phase adds in a3, adds/legs in a4. Wasn't a move I ever looked forward to getting but it's actually really nice in every bit of content thus far, they could easily make fights its worthless in but hopefully that doesn't come up too much.
I'm 55 DRK, that's a move you just slap on an add before its about to die?
