I meant in creating the stage, lol. There's no fun in checkpoints IMO. Suffer from beginning to end, mang!

Yeah some of the levels are great but I'll do something stupid and fuck up and then have to start over which can be kind of tedious.
Some of them are also gimmicky but once you figure them out, it's cool. I'm still struggling with the wall jump thing from MarioU, haven't quite gotten the muscle memory for that down yet. I swear I have the hand coordination of a toddler sometimes.
If you ever get good at wall jumping then the Super Meat Boy stage may be a fun challenge for you lol.
This looks like the kind of game I'd be super intent on picking up, only to play for an hour and never touch again. Someone tell me that won't be the case!
I'd be curious to hear an opinion from someone who had zero interest in the game until it was in their hands, because that's where I stand. All of this hype for the game baffles me, because it does not look interesting to me at all. I just keep seeing all this hype for it and it feels like Bioshock Infinite all over again (bought it 'cause hype, did not enjoy). All this great press makes me want to try it, but it doesn't look like something that would keep me occupied for long enough to justify its purchase price.
I assumed this game was meant for people with a desire to create, and I do not have that itch.
Play WHAT though? Play other peoples' levels? Play around making your own? Both?
Both. I spent so long just dicking around before finalizing my first course. I was adding and erasing things, moving things around, playing through and seeing how the physics worked with what I'd done and adjusting it accordingly. Then once I got done with a level, I'd decide to go out and play some other levels, which (after you've done it a while) gives you ideas for your next levels.
I suggest getting on YouTube and watching some of the playthrough videos if you haven't already. I was already excited for the game but once I started watching those videos, that's what actually prompted me to spend the money.
i was another "on the fence" buyer.
went ahead thinking meh why not. ended up playing for nearly 5 hours making my first course, then another 3-4 playing the 100 mario challenge. have gone back every day since. i'm really glad i didn't cancel/pass. the game doesn't have everything, but it damn sure has a lot of it.
i figured i'd get tired of people's levels, but even when they're tedious/overly difficult, i find myself pushing just for that "fuck you creator" effort by getting that red clear flag and my name on the list of people to win. it's really fun and the most action my wii u has gotten.
The empty bar we have after unlocking everything makes me hope they will add stuff months down the road.
How long does it take to unlock everything? I read you can cheat and update the date on your system but if you decide not to do that?
not having cheated, on day 2 and 4 levels created in, i've only just unlocked mario bros. 3. so i'd guess about a week to get everything?
Assuming you never make a stage, is this game worth getting? I have 0 creativity and any stage I make would surely be ass. Is it fun enough to just download other stages and go through them?
Yeah that sounds like a lot of effort for something that will unlock naturally over time.
Also, both of my levels that I've uploaded are terrible CS, it's still fun even if you make something shitty.
omg some of the Japanese levels are fucking brutal ¬.¬
Oh. Well that's not going to be very difficult to be honest, the first thing I'm gonna do when I get home today is work on creating a new level.
You don't have to wait 9 days or change your clock. Use every new asset and theme at least once (they're marked with !) and then just fill the screen with blocks, it'll tell you the delivery will arrive sooner. Use the rocket eraser and scribble some more random blocks and you'll get the next unlock. Rinse and repeat. I got all the assets, game styles, and themes in like 30 minutes doing this without changing the clock or anything
