I keep fucking up the rotation something fierce, thinking about switching to smn main.

I ended up lining the wildfire rotation on two separate hotbars that appear with a macro, then go through it when it's time to do so. Scrub strat, but that feels like the most reliable way of doing it without flailing around like a douchebag.
Can you share that macro
Opener macro;
/hotbar copy THM 1 MCH 1
/hotbar copy THM 2 MCH 2
/hotbar copy THM 3 MCH 3
rotation macro
/hotbar copy ARC 1 MCH 1
/hotbar copy ARC 2 MCH 2
/hotbar copy ARC 3 MCH 3
Basically, just set your Rotation/Opener stuff up on some random job/class hotbars(i set them on ARC and THM hotbars obv) you don't use, then those two buttons swap your entire hotbar set to whatever is on those hotbars.
I prefer placing them on completely different hotbars so my regular hotbars remain unchanged, in case I need to act on the fly.
I use MCH hotbars #5 and #6.
Opener Macro
/hotbar display 5 on
/hotbar display 6 on
Closing Macro
/hotbar display 5 off
/hotbar display 6 off
Hotbars 5 and 6 show up on screen with the Opener macro and I just click through them, then make them disappear with the closing macro. If you want the hotbars to be where you keybinds regularly are so you can push buttons you'll have to use Zero's method.
I have 2 hot bars on each side of my controller hot bar. I just just start from the left and click down to the bottom, them start from the top right to the bottom. Using:
I have a 5K wildfire right now at ivl183. I see people reporting 10K wildfires on the OF and is that a thing? I feel pretty weak compared to that.Hypercharge, BFB, HE, RS, Gauss Round
Hot Shot | Pot
Lead Shot | Reload
Split | Wildfire
Slug | Rapid Fire
Clean | Ricochet
Split | Head Graze, Blank
Slug | Reassemble
Clean | Quick Reload
Split | Gauss Round
*Wildfire goes off*
10k is super good luck with draco pot, litany, trick attack etc, or vuln debuffs ie a2s
Because you're not the only one hitting the mob.
This may be an obvious question but I've not seen it asked:
Does Wildfire enmity apply to MCH?
I don't run Quelling Strikes, so based on burst DPS I should be a problem at the start of fights, but I've virtually never pulled aggro during my initial (single-target) rotation in pretty much any content. This leads me to believe one of three things:
1) my burst DPS is low (parsed numbers seem acceptable so far)
2) tank enmity generation is godlike in 3.0 (technically not impossible, but we have had some early threat problems with other jobs)
3) Wildfire is treated like a third-party (turrets, pet) and that enmity disappears into the void
The thing that makes me believe it might be #3 is the problem that parsers have consistently tracking Wildfire damage.
Seems easy enough to test. Get you and one other person on a dummy, do your wildfire thing (preferably without any DoTs) while the other person generates some enmity (also without DoTs). Stop doing anything a couple seconds before Wildfire is done, see if the hate bar changes.
The only thing that would throw a wrench in that test is if Wildfire generates a static amount of enmity, but isn't dependent on the amount of damage (another option to your list).
Ok so I have done some things and got more great now I am i183
And I am pulling between 5200-6700 on my wildfires but when is the best time to hit the potion? I tend to do it between split and wildfire
hot shot> potion> lead shot
Lead Shot is our biggest damage so should get potion on it and it lasts 15s so it will get on all but the last 1-2 skills, which should be split/slug.
I'm pretty sure Wildfire is considered part of your own enmity, reason for my thinking this way, when I level a DPS job, I have a habit of sneaking peeks at the enmity bars next to the players name(started when I tried leveling tank jobs and just stuck with me), I usually see my enmity bar spike up when Wildfire actually goes off, more than a few times I've actually pulled hate with it even with Quelling Strikes used at the beginning of the opener(though not for long). The tanks usually grab it right back.
I mean, it would make sense too, if you think about it Wildfire is nothing more than a debuff you put on the mob.
If I don't use Quelling, I pull hate before Wildfire even goes off, and when it does go off, the boss comes right back to me if they got hate back.
Wildfire definitely builds enmity and it's probably done regularly. If I don't use Quelling in A4, I'm quarantined every time with the co-tank. If I do, I'm usually safe.
What's your current GCD time? It seems like most of us are using very similar openers so I'm not sure what the difference would be.
I'm currently using:
HE/RS/B4B/HC, Hot, potion, Lead, Reload, Split, Wildfire, Slug, QR/Reassem, Clean, Rico/Rapid, Split, Gauss Round, Slug, Head Graze, Split, Blank, Clean, Slug (Wildfire normally goes off around now). I think my GCD is 2.44.
Anyone else here is having issues dealing with oGCD and GCD actions not being executed in the right order?
Like if I Quick Reload > Slug Shot half the time my ammo end up being unused and no proc makes me sad =(
Yeah, sometimes I feel like a rabbit has appeared on my head during my opener.
