Personal experience for me is that if you put out the Rook when you need TP, it's already too late since even with Hypercharge, the TP regen isn't enough to fully offset your TP usage from AoE spam.

Generally I don't find myself running out of TP often anyway using Spread shot, if I do start to get low I just switch to single target and leave Bishop going.

If every pull is a large pull and the other DPS is a melee (BRD shouldn't need TP regen any more as they generally shouldn't be using AoE WS with the RoD changes) I could see using Rook regen but that's not a common situation really.

It seems to me that I never run out of TP on straight Spread spam, but only when I do Grenado spam and switch to Spread too late. The guideline I've been using so far is Grenado before Invig, Spread after, which generally gets the job done.

I alternate. I really, really need to get a good AoE routine because even for MCN, I'm falling behind when even the DRGs are spamming that jump-pole-dance move. >.> Dragonfire Dive or something?

So I just got MCH to 40 today, is it a viable DPS @60 or should I just forget about it & get my NIN from 50 to 60? I'd like to try & DPS things such as BEX & REX, but when I see the poor DPS I did for these 10 1st level I am really worried.

My MCH DPS was pathetic early on but started to pick up a bit around turrets, and jumped a lot when I got Hypercharge.
Of course, this was all in dungeons, so evaluate accordingly.

If you just want to put out good numbers you probably are better leveling another DPS class. I think MCH and BRD are in a good spot right now but they're always going to be bottom rung when it comes to DPS numbers, it's especially noticeable if you don't have a DRG in your group. Both will always have a pretty welcome spot in groups and bring great (and often mandatory) utility but if you wanna just shit damage on things and top the meters you'd be better off playing something like MNK/DRG/SMN.

56 now and I still don't like the way they made Reload.

Reload -> 15s of PEW PEW -> 45s of pfft

It should have just been something like 2 ammo/15-20s, something you used on a regular basis to even out the RNG from your combos.

As it is it just throws out the combo proc system for a bit every minute rather than working with the combo system, and if your Hot Shot and Lead Shot timings don't line up you either have to waste ammo refreshing them or go without them until you use your ammo.

There isn't even any depth to its use beyond 123121, a whole 1 WS that you use out of the normal order and you've mastered the technique, yay.

Technically not even 15 seconds of pew pew if Rapid is up.

I feel like they should have an attack that loads a shot, like how NIN has Armor Crush. Because it seems unlikely that they will lower the cooldown of Reload. Like what if Slug and Clean did not consume an ammo on proc?

What I meant was to basically combine Quick and Reload into just Reload giving 2 ammo/15-20s.

Currently we get 7 ammo/min, that would give us 6 or 8 ammo/min spread out evenly rather than clustered all together.

I'm fine with the way ammo works, just not with the way Reload works.

I think making it so Split/Slug are the only things to consume ammo and then making Reload 4 ammo and QR 2 ammo would be a good change. There is at most less then 30s of praying for procs, before QR is back up, not 45s. This buffs QR enough, so that it helps more for that second time Wildfire comes up and helps ensure you always get at least a full combo in every 30s.

The only real issue I have with MCH atm is the Buffs don't line up very well with Reload/QR. QR 30s, Reload 60s, Wildfire 90s, Rapid 90s, Reassemble 90s, so that second "burst" is odd because you only have QR and 1 ammo to use with Rapid/Reassemble/Wildfire. Making Reload 45s would fix all of that as well.

tl;dr QR 2 ammo, Reload 4 ammo 45s CD, Split/Slug only things to consume ammo, and I think things would be better.

So I am leveling mch now and what happened to that charge shot type skill that yoshi talked about when it was first introduced etc? Where you know holding it down longer would increase dmg? is that still a thing?

Sounds like that's just what Gauss became or always was.

My average so far at i183 is around 750-800. I don't have hive weapon so that probably drops me a bit. That's mostly on dungeons and A1, A3. A4 I think I only so 650 or so because of the random quarantine and such.

So I'm only level 55 right now, and stuck with a craptastic ilvl120 weapon (Sohm Al has been the RNG devil to me), but what are people's experiences with Wildfire damage with Gauss on/off? My rotation is this:

Without Gauss: Hotshot > Raging Strikes > Hawkeye > Lead Shot > Reload > Rapid > Split > Slug > Reassemble > Clean Shot > Head Graze (for the off GCD damage) > then just repeat Split > Slug > Clean Shot --- that leads to about a 1700-1800 damage Wildfire in an optimal situation (crits, etc)

With Gauss: Hotshot > Raging Strikes > Hawkeye > Lead Shot > Reload > Rapid > Split > Slug > Reassemble > Clean Shot > Head Graze (for the off GCD damage) > Gauss Round then just repeat Split > Slug > Clean Shot -- the damage fluctuates but highest I've seen is just under 1600

Perhaps it's the fact that I just got the ability and I'm still getting used to it, and/or just luck with the crits or my rotation is wrong, idk.

    Going to experiment some more.

EDIT: Ended up getting a 2.1k Wildfire twice in a row in the Gauss on situation, so scratch what I said above.
