That Richards thing is not a buyout. They're saying he breached the Player Standards terms of his contract. Beyond that, they won't say specifically what he's done.

GM Lombardi then learned of an incident that he had no knowledge of and informed both teams that the Kings had to withdraw from talks. So this happened very suddenly and was not premeditated. We'll find out more when the NHLPA takes up the issue.

I keep seeing things about cap recapture but that is only if a player retires before their contract is up. Richards hasn't retired and his contract atm is void so Im not sure how the Kings get hit with a cap recapture?

Sharks paid a price for sure but I think Martin Jones is well worth it. Worth a gamble as No. 1 guy. Like this trade for both teams.
