Speaking of which, just checked out Pittsburgh's dilemma. I never realized or at least remembered that Malkin was making more than Crosby. How the fuck did that happen? Lol

Florida pushing for that floor
Another huge part of the Jimmy Hayes-Reilly Smith trade: Florida also acquires Marc Savard contract
Except Florida isnt even a floor team lol
Late to the party. Some initial thoughts. Getting Webber for another year at 1.5 is good. Getting Prust for Kassian and a fifth was meh. Bummed they gave up on Kassian but they clearly didn't know what to do with him. Pretty meh about the Canucks right now. Glad they seem to be going into rebuild mode but the trade returns so far have been lame.

Canadiens agree to terms on a one-year, two-way contract with free agent defenseman Mark Barberio (2015-16). -> http://goha.bs/1GOLQom
Was talking to a buddy at work about this. Seems like the rebuild is... not entirely on but basically slowly getting started. The tough thing being the last couple seasons have been pretty mediocre for Vancouver as far as what players they have and the results they've gotten, so a lot of the trade value has diminished. And while you could get a ton for the Sedins, it's all but a given that those 2 are going to stay in and retire as Canucks.
Hate to say it but I think they don't outright tank next season, but just do bad enough to get a good pick next year. Miller's contract is also up so they could get some decent returns on him at the trade deadline as a rental while passing off the reins to Markstrom and then going full rebuild from then on (in the situation that they are in an awful position at that point next season).
Edit: Jesus my grammar and typing was awful this post
Antoine Vermette back with the Coyotes on a 2 year deal.
Guess that trade worked out for everyone.
Got my Cup. Peace.
Losing all these dudes who truly stepped it up during the playoffs... Saad, Richards, Vermette. All three were huge. Maybe next year it will shift back to the studs of the previous years.
Justin Williams to the caps on a 2 year deal.
Rangers are fucked next year.
Aslong as none of the AHL scrubs are Jayson fucking dirtbag Megna
Overall though, I'm happy-ish with the deal. I was worried Maatta or Poulliout would be gone, waking up on 7/2 with both still in the lineup (and Sutter!) is better than I expected. Sad to see ANOTHER 1st rd pick go but thats life. Kessel will play with Crosby for sure. I expect Malkin to take Hornqvist. I worry due to the type of player he is that this deal only makes us a better regular season team. I'm not sure if it makes us a better playoff team, which is all any Pens fan should really care about.
Short contract, not too much money, scoring winger with good possession numbers, has won 3 Cups. I can dig it, though it means Wardo is more then likely gone and that makes me sad.
