The most common argument is "well the Salary Cap keeps going up, its going up by 5 mil per season"...yet, the salary cap barely budged this season, and the Canadian dollar (you know, where most of the NHL's revenue comes from anyways) isnt exactly at a strong point.

Yeah, that big Rogers broadcast deal was supposed to be really great for the league... and then the value of the Canadian dollar dropped to $.75 =/. That $5.2bil contract basically has plummeted to $3.9bil in value (obviously the math has been excessively simplified and assuming the Canadian company made the deal with Canadian dollars)

AAV reported as 4.15M per season, which isn't terrible but I still think it's too much for a guy who routinely destroyed team morale by letting in the ugliest goals early in games and then throwing his team mates under the bus during the postgame interview.
