Last thing on the subject, but imo we still need to wait for future proofs, so many times in QC a girl accused a guy of rape, and a few days ago she drops the accusation because we learned that she just didn't get satisfied with the sex she got and decided to get vengence.

Women withdraw trials for many reasons, not just because of "unsatisfying sex," as you called it. The idea of sitting through a trial where I, the victim, would also be on trial for my actions leading up to the incident as well as the strong possibility that only two people in the world know what happened and that the media and the court are always going to side with the accused for some reason (even though for every other crime this isn't the case).

Then you factor things in like intoxication (can't give consent), withdrawal of consent (said yes at first but then asked to stop), coerced consent, "well she got aroused so she must have wanted it" defenses, all these things that serve to make the woman look guilty, many times they're talked out of going to trial at all for so many reasons and on top of that, sitting in a courtroom and seeing your attacker face to face ... are you really surprised?

To say that "most" women just claim it was "unsatisfying sex" is ignorant. Oh, you mean most women that end up in the news? Shocking. The media skews things. You hear about false reports much more frequently. So people begin to believe that false reports are everywhere, that no one really gets raped, they're all just making it up. Of all reported rapes, I believe it's something like 2% of accusations end up being false. Of all reported rapes, because many of them go unreported at all.

If it turns out that this girl is lying I will crucify her like the rest of you but automatically assuming she's lying does more harm to the victim (and future rape victims) than to Patrick Kane in this case. People are going to rush to his defense no matter what, I've already seen it.

You don't have to read other people's tweets or understand other people's sense of humor. It's pretty simple. You can spend the entire day looking at things you're offended by and posting about them in your favorite forum. But at the end of the day what have you accomplished? Nada.

You really don't understand, do you? It's not funny. These people aren't joking. They're serious. They think it's perfectly okay. And when you talk to them or try to call them out, they still maintain that Kane (or any celebrity) should be able to take any woman they please because of their status.

That is harmful to rape victims everywhere. I'm sorry that your Rose-Colored Hawks glasses are keeping you from seeing that, but it's the truth. When people excuse and apologize for me and say "She should have wanted it!!!!11!!!!!" then that is saying that rape is okay if you're a celebrity and women are objects for them to use.

I think it's hilarious that you are explaining why every post in here needs to be modified in wording as to not upset anyone and how the posts could have been better worded to remain neutral, or rather that a mindset needs to remain neutral. Rata's post about "unsatisfying sex" is so misinformed and misguided I just can't get my head around it. I should be allowed to point out the flaw in what he's saying, try to inform someone or educate someone, right? Because he's incorrect. Most rape accusations are not false. Most rape accusations never go to trial, but not because the victim was lying.

I feel comfortable coming to this thread and saying what I want to say about the matter - I won't publicly (I mean this isn't exactly a private site but it probably doesn't get much traffic outside the regulars) lambast him and I'm certainly trying to keep an open mind about the matter. I personally feel like something must have taken place for her to go through the process of having a rape kit done (it's not fun), but I will wait for more details.

The only thing I referenced as a joke was the girls Twitter post. If you're going to be on here pointing out everyone who's wrong then you need to own up to when you are as well. You haven't recognized the fact that nothing I said has to do with me being a Hawks fan yet you reference it in a rebuttals. Also the way you interpret what people are posting is so overwhelmingly opinionated that you're too quick to pull the trigger to start an argument. Once again most of the stuff you're posting is how, and I can almost guarantee, everyone in here see's things. The reason I'm not outright saying yes to everything you're saying is because the way you present yourself is hostile with a better-and-holier-than-thou attitude behind it. It makes what you say so unappealing I can't even consider myself being someone who sees eye-to-eye with you about anything.
