To recap: Thomas Eoannou will no longer represent Kane accuser and family because there may be "a fabrication" in story of how he received the evidence bag from them. He says the accuser herself is not involved in the fabrication.

What's this 'moral obligation' to withdrawl though? Is he saying he won't represent someone that he thinks is lying or what? I don't get the point of that statement.

I think it's something like someone on the accuser's side (that isn't her, aka, his actual client) is trying to sway public opinion and really going to some not so savory (and maybe even illegal) ways to do it, and he's covering his ass not wanting to get involved.

That or the accuser is out of money and the lawyer is trying to save face instead of admitting that he's done because they can't pay him anymore.
