Error 404 means nothing about region
But now it works guess they changed something or w/e
Oh man, exciting news.
If this happens I'm definitely getting it.
Im hoping it makes a PC release as well, going by SEs normal portable than PC release schedule, it very likely will
A digital Vita version can't be that expensive to port over, why didn't they consider it in the first place? :/
Uh; it's been a while since a Mana game came out in the US and sales for the series in general weren't that great in the last decade(2 DS games and a PS2 game). If SE isn't even willing to throw cash at a new Chrono game, I really don't see a ton of energy being spent on another Mana game either. Their secondary IPs are really just languishing. :/
The two DS games had the Mana name but didn't play like an actual SoM game, and the PS2 game did about 410K copies, which isn't bad at all; they just need to stick with the original combat and not add in wonky things that just complicate the player progression. Either way, I don't see it being able to happen until SE gets its house back in proper order. Would still want a new Chrono Trigger, before a Mana game.
Honestly, I wish they'd do something like SD1 & 2's camera angle/SD2's general control scheme(but less menu based since we've got sticks and more buttons now)/SD3's job system/LoM's techs
Just roll all of that into one game and it'll be the last game I ever need.
I've actually thought for a while that if Square has one lone IP that would absolutely benefit from a demake like MegaMan 9, it would be Mana. Add in the above with a refined version of SoM 3's/LoM's aesthetic and it would be golden.
As for Kachiko's comment too, I agree 100%. It isnt enough just to add on the "Mana" tag for it to succeed, and that was my point. We all raised a collective eyebrow at Rise, and the mobile focus I don't think is the right avenue for a title like Mana, and thats why they're shutting it down. It isn't what the fans want. Theres a lot of positive response to the Adventures remake, and I'm hoping SE takes note of it to recognize that if you give the IP proper attention instead of shoehorning everything to take advantage of the mobile market, it will pay out for them in the end.
tl;dr - Make a non mobile Mana game with some amount of heart poured into it and it'll have results. It isn't Breath of Fire level dead yet, and I hope they don't let it reach that point.
