Probably because of the current state of MN9 and the general suspicions brought on by the Shenmue III KS.

These guys need to go back to anime school.
Damn it another game I'm willing to throw money at...
Ok so I kicked in my $69 lets see where this goes.
Polygon and Engaget just picked up on this and made stories on it. Hoping that helps push this along a bit quicker.
Also, I really wish Capcom would add MML/MML2 to digital services... I remember I only played about 10 minutes of MML as a kid and was mad it wasn't like normal Megaman and just quit because of that... But I want to get back into it...
So an unreleased game is getting a spinoff anime, and now a spinoff game (which is also getting it's own anime)?
Maybe next week they'll announce the mighty number X kickstarter, followed by beck.exe, along with several more animes, a feature film, and a collectible card game or two.
I think he's trying to give his fans what they've been asking for for a while now (I mean, there's a "100k strong for bringing back MML3" Facebook page I'm a part of), but I agree he might be moving a bit quick... I wish he'd of waited til Mighty No.9 came out and was a success before starting this, probably would have gotten done quicker... Timing is a bit off on this one.
Yeah, a little excited for this

PS4 had won the system poll, obviously, and they released a in-progress video that shows them incorporating assets from Mighty. They really dropped this one too soon.
Yeah, as much as I'd love a spiritual successor to MML, they should have waited until Mighty No. 9 was out and used the profits to help fund this.
There's also been quite a lot of good Campaigns lately, i'm sure some people were running low on money x.x;
Hopefully he doesn't get discouraged and tries again at a later time when MN9 is a success, realizing this was just a really badly timed campaign a long with a few other flaws (Lack of gameplay until a couple updates in, etc)...
What the fuck does whatever deity have against another Legends game. Holy shit...
Just because the Kickstarter fails doesn't mean the game won't get made.
