Question: In A3S does Fluid Strike interrupt casts? I see a lot of groups giving Vuln Up to a melee so they can still hit positionals; do the mages just time casts between the strikes, or are they flagged to not interrupt?

Well, on the official forums as I predicted they're trying to defend this by saying: "BUT BUT! THIS ISN'T THE ONLY CONTENT YOU CAN DO IN FFXIV! NOT EVERYONE CARES FOR LEVELING TO 60 AND DOING CONTENT LIKE THAT!" When in reality, the playerbase isn't that high. I wonder just how many of those 5 million accounts even stayed subbed longer than a month or after they seen HW was just 2.0 version flight.

Just looking at the census info on character race/sex distributions they released it's very clear how padded the numbers are by trial and RMT accounts.

They said it only factors in characters above level 6, which weeds out the majority of the RMT.

The gil they sell does come from somewhere, and it's not being farmed by armies of lvl1 characters.

Well yeah, but that definitely isn't skewing the numbers as heavily as you seem to be implying.

It's being skewed somewhere though. I wouldn't doubt the alts are also a big number, since apparently leveling should be considered content in XIV too. If they exclude trial and level 5 and under..how is it only 200k people out of 5 million ever touched alexander in over a months time? 50-60 is nothing.

No wonder the OF/Reddit/Zam folks think this game is brimming with content.

Considering that 5 million registered accounts doesn't mean all 5 million are active subscriptions, that figure is useless.

From experience, some people are just that slow when it comes to leveling from 50 to 60, let alone grinding all the tomes to be qualified for Alexander. Actually I'd say the bigger issue is grinding the law tomes, since that is by far the most boring activity.

Yeah an Alex Normal you can largely do with the shit you get out of Library and the 60 dungeons (might push it close but eh.) I know not all are active subs but if it does indeed only come down to that little amount of people actually doing relevant content..it's no wonder yoshi is fine with the format he's doing lol.

A1 can be done in i130 gear. Just to show how "difficult" the content is.

I know a large handful of people on balmung that haven't touched Alexander at all and have no plans to.

Granted, Balmung has a pretty massive roleplayer population but it's still one of the larger servers for total population. so it isn't that surprising yo me that there aren't a shitload more people in Alexander.

A ton of people have a mentality that WoW helped instill that raids = hardcore only and shouldn't even be attempted. It's weird, but eh.

Anyone seen any vods of the final phase of A4S? The only one I have is this one, but it was post in this thread already, and they wipe as soon as Royal Pentacle comes out. We took a break for the week after our A3S kill (since if the big dicks ain't killing it us scrubs ain't either), but we're looking to go back in next lockout and get some practice in. I've typed up a short list for my raid of what seems to be the basic list of mechanics/a small description for the phases so I'll dump it here. Please feel free to correct anything if it's wrong since it's based off of a vod and not actual experience.
