Alexander Discussion, Round 2: Wait is this the easy mode thread?

The primary problem I feel is the lack of content, you could get away with the final boss be a bit of a cockblock when you have 8-12 bosses in a raid tier (WoW style) but when you can only release 4 bosses ever 6 months it becomes a big issue when a large part of your population are stuck doing 2 bosses for weeks with no feeling of progression, especially in the previous tiers they were able to somewhat complete/clear the raid at this point.

Just joined a static last week, one of the leaders of our FC asked me personally if I would like to and for that reason alone I pretty much said yes. Dude was experienced, and also very cool about explaining things, I trusted him. Our first event, we destroy Faust in AS1 and get pretty far on Oppressor but we didn't finish AS1 that night. Come the next meet up, there's a new healer who wasn't there last time.. the one who took his place at last static meet is a RL friend of mine and was there in Team Speak to also give advice. My friend giving advice is a healer that has completed AS1-3 and was also very polite, well the two healers in our static didn't take kindly to the advice, insisted it was not needed and basically pissed off my friend, and the main person who invited me, and another guy that was experienced. So now they are out, and I am stuck in this static I only joined because my friend asked me.

All I can say is, if you are new to something like Savage, you need to sit down, shut the fuck up, and pay attention unless you watched some strategy videos consistently (which they didn't). Dudes were getting hit with Mini puddles, and other stupid ass shit.

If it wasn't for my RL friends playing, and a few cool people I have met so far in my FC, and Linkshells, I would already stop playing. I have only been playing for 3 months and already feel burnt out. The only thing I haven't done is the final 4 coils of Bahamut, savage coils and Alexander savage.

TL;DR Newbies on AS1 Savage refuse to have to sit and listen and take any advice for this fight, despite never even attempting or completing it. Bitch and moan about 3 other people taking their time to try to get us through this run and give advice, so the people giving advice completely drop out of the picture and I am left with a raid leader that didn't even seem to give a shit about it. Whelp, can't wait for next run! o.o

100% agree. Trying to complete savage is not worth it if you don't have friends you trust. It's just a tedious and damning grind at that point.

The cheese method in general helps PLD. PLD tanks big doll since dps doesn't matter. PLD sacs each time since their dps is less.

Hm...it feels random but could be based on the server tic that decides your position. I can GENERALLY get pushed back in my preferred direction if I beat the tic...but yeah I feel it's random.

Random to the point where you try to suicide in the water and it decides to knock you back into the arena. Probably one of the few things I dislike about that fight, the other being tethers not picking up immediately.

I wish tethers not getting picked up was random but that shit is about as consistent as it gets for me, nothing more infuriating than just watching people get blown the fuck up whilst I dance in the tether popping cooldowns that aren't gonna do shit.

Yea I've had that happen too, I was running towards the edge and -just- before going off the platform I got knocked damn near exactly to the center of the arena.

To clarify for everyone, the push/direction is random, however for a person to be "safe" as in not pushed into the water, you position your self @ dead center. As in the calculation of the distance pushed is based on the center of the arena.
If you are anywhere else but the center, it'll still push you in a random direction with the same distance as if you were in center etc.

kanan rumi for one name if you insist. he just clred yesterday i think and that dude is a fucking legend in chocobo community

he would hop around any PT in PF and help them, give them tips, full detailed timeline macros calling every single mechanics, and what healer/tank should be using to deflect damage etc etc

best ever PLD if you ask me, not just in playskill, but for everything hes done for the chocobo pug community

everyone will always go "fuck yesss kanan" whenever he joins your PT to help
