Given all the extra mats required for the NQ synth, is it even going to be viable to go that route?

You can desynth the cursed gear though. I was doing it on alch to get some scales back, when I NQd
Purely guessing I'd say for some yes for some no. I'd say Adaman Hauberk probably yes. Adaman Mufflers probably not.
Yeah iirc people were surprised hexed couldn't... hopefully new stuff can be. Can get really good rates on desynth nowadays so the ability to do so might help solve the availability of materials problems
I haven't yet since my comp got fried over the weekend... thanks though I was about to and knowing SE you might just be right lol
You need the new abjurations from Escha Ru Aun to uncurse the upgraded curse item. Then Nolan augments it. 99% positive you will use eschalixirs to augment.
So Mezzotint?
How about we focus on the important issues guys, come on.

What the fuck, where are those I didn't see them when I was doing missions.
Seems like the simplest, most sanity-preserving way to think about the new "cursed" gear crafting, is that it's a whole brand new large set of reused-model abjuration gear with T0 craft odds (and an annoying "pre-synth") for the cursed piece. Full stop.
All the other stuff with HQing the "pre-synth" or obtaining some shortcuts with old uncursed gear and so forth, are just details around the margins, and have no substantial effect on the overall probability/expense of generating a new -1 "cursed" item. If you've got the old -1 or HQed abjuration gear already, and it's useless in its current form, you may as well use it up in this way to feel better about your past life choices, and overall it'll provide some initial minor bump in supply across a server. But don't go out of your way expecting to be able to be able to shortcut the new stage by putting effort/expense into the old stage. Do some mental math before spending a marrow, etc. Though after seeing that porxie I'm not sure I'm capable of mental math anymore...
The rarity/cost of eschite ore is the big unknown here. Unless it turns out to be trivial, that'll be what determines just how many -1s ultimately arrive on the market, and how many arms and legs you'll have to shell out for them.
Just noticed something else possibly in favor of using hq base. Hq recipes are as far as I can tell a single craft T1... but the nqs are T0 main and an unknown sub. So the sub might end up lowering success/hq rates even more
Yeah I think escha ore wont be too expensive, its farmable by any solo average joe who will find em and dump em on AH for quick sales.
So theyre gonna have random undercutting.
Which means the HQ+ore synth will be pretty cheap to spam.
For what it's worth, I spent about a total of 2.5-3 hours cleaving and helping to cleave for my team and didn't see a single ore. I got a gold chest and a fancy ring before I saw an ore.
Like yeah it's farmable, but I think more by dumb luck than deliberate design. Unless I was just getting screwed by RNG I actually came to the opposite conclusion, that at this level of rarity nobody is going to use ores on NQs.
Quetz also was swimming in Kunwu compared to Fenrir. I snagged up as much as I could before I transferred my mule over.
Our servers are very different it seems.
So, funny story: I have been Rank 10 in the 3 cities since forever ago, but I *think* I may have skipped (via crystals, I assume?) Windurst Mission 2-2 and Bastok 3-2 because those ones didn't get marked as completed automatically and I did not get the last mission appear, so, I can not get the 10% bonus from either nation.
Time to go switch nations and see how/if I can do those 2 missions specifically :S
Edit: Just to clarify, I *do* get missions past those in the objective list -> tutorial up until Windurst 9-2 and Bastok 7-2 but no more than that.
(oh-shi, I just realized then I must have skipped Bastok 7-2 as well :S).
Windurst 9-2 is the last mission, though.
