JP Wiki has 7/8 things for Defense:
4 NMs in Escha
Bonds of Mythril
Bastok Missions
One Escha mission

So killing the Incursion boss might be #8.

I've done everything listed there and I'm only at 7 defense. I did, however, skip a few of the missions for Bastok and Windy. You could be on to something about completing everything for 8/8 on HP and MP. I'll get on to it and report it in a few days unless someone can debunk it.

It's odd you guys seem persistent that certain NMs outside of Escha unlock vorseals. Everything that's been confirmed appears to be mission/quest based, so I think we should be focusing on what we've accomplished. Hell the whole theme of Rhapsodies is to get you to complete everything about the game just to progress. It sorta makes sense how everything wants to tie to a conclusion and feeling complete about knowing the whole story of the game. I mean there's gotta be a reason Eco-Warrior & other level sync quests were adjusted, and random shit like campaign ops recharge timers got reduced

Overall I am 7 on all the stats and 6/6 on all attributes, but I am 8 on MDEF somehow... Part of me thinks 8/8 for the respective stat can be completed by finishing every single quest for each nation - past and present. It may even need the outland cities that the nations are linked to which I think is Tavnazia/Sandy, Rabao/Bastok and Kazham/Windy?

It will probably align with the respective stat listed on JP wiki (Bastok being Def, Windurst being atk, Sandy being acc). Though I think a few people have done that already and would report it. I'll try to complete everything about Windy, Windy S and Kazham and report it when I get done.

Edit: Forgot a good amount of the quests require completing AF and WS trials. I may abandon or take while because I have several jobs below 50. I'll probably just go step-by-step and check: complete all Windurst missions and quests except AF; complete all past Windurst [S] quests; complete all Kazham quests; complete all Campaign Ops and other random quest like activities (Let me know if there's any other obscure quests I forgot about); complete All Quests including AF.

Ya this is gonna suck, but I am determined. Final Fantasy is a story driven game after all. A good amount of writing is terrible, but I'd say it's worth it when you get the few hidden gems that are enjoyable. Gives me something to do and look forward to at least.

For what it's worth, having beaten the t1s in both zones, I'm sitting at 8/8 acc/eva, mdef, and mab. And 7/7 def, atk/ratk, and macc/meva. I've completed all mission lines and the nation quests in the past too. Is anyone here at 8/8 on def, atk, or macc?

Hmm Acc is San'doria so I'm wondering if you completed every single quest in the past aside from the the continuous quest for the WotG missions. I'm guessing you haven't completed every single present day san'doria quest since it's really a lot. If it's not these cases then I'm guessing it's something pretty random, but I'm still leaning towards something quest or accomplishment based. Have you done all AF quests for jobs that originate in Sandy or something?

Ya it's pretty much confirmed that completing all the nation quests in the past unlocked vorseals. I have 7 doing everything possible mission wise including the 3 paths in the past quest lines. The 7 ACC/EVA, Def and ATK are confirmed via Nation Missions, Past Quest line, Rhapsodies Mission and 4 Escha NMs.

Bah how do you people have 8? If 7th MAB came from the records of eminence quest line, does completing all envelops unlock the 8th? I'm only at 447/473 for the last envelope atm.

Also I was slacking on Eminence Quests. Did the Fomor quest then up to Kill a Mockingbird one and got my 7th MAB vorseal for it.

Well I'll be damned.

Just got another level of HP/MP. I've been checking every time I zone in and have done nothing notable lately except kill mobs for capacity points. I have currently killed 5142 "eschan" mobs and typically kill about 160 per visit, so it's highly likely that it was a reward for 5000 kills.

On another note:

If for some reason an NM fight in Escha goes south, anyone that died can disband PT/Ally to summon Trusts. Summon trust tanks and whms etc and then hold the NM for a while.

Vorseals-wise, these are unlocked by Abyssea:
Grauberg => INT/MND/CHR
Altepa => DEX/AGI
Uleg => STR/VIT

Atm I have the following Vorseals:
HP/MP => 6? (maybe it's 7, I forgot)
Acc/Racc/Eva => 7
Def => 7
Macc/Meva => 6
Mdef => 7
Macc => 7
Stats => 6
Nullifies DMG => 2
Killer => 2
DT => 2
Spoils => 4
Rare => 4
Luck => 4

I completed all the missions for all expansions and miniexpansions.
Killed everything in Incursion.
Killed every Escha NM at least once
Killed every mob in Escha zones at least once

What could I be missing to explain those things that are not at level 8 yet?
Maybe the Visions and Scars zones of Abyssea. I need to go check but I'm pretty confident I haven't done all 10 quests in those 6 zones.
What else? Please suggest things so I can see what I'm missing.

You didn't post your MAB vorseal but one of from the RoE Mainquest for sure.

I completed, dunno how many RoEs. Around 500? Unlocked severaly one-time RoE quests like that where you have to kill Apademak solo, that where you have to use the shield etc.

It's just a matter of trash kills? I farmed over 2000k silt, you'd be leaning to think I killed quite a lot. Altough I have no clue how many that is honestly.
If it's like Byrth says, it makes sense anyway.
I'm more puzzled about the other level 6 and level 7.
Are Grauberg-Altepa-Uleg the only 3 abyssea zones that unlock something? Or do the other 6 zones unlock something as well?
Because if they do, then that's totally something I'm missing. Pretty confident I haven't done all 10 quests in those 6 Abyssea zones.

I rechecked after getting home, this is what I have atm:

HP/MP => 6 (this is ok, just need more kills etc)
Acc/Eva => 6
Def => 7
Att/Ratt => 7
Macc/Meva => 6 (wut?)
Mdef => 8
Matt => 8
Stats => 6
and the rest doesn't matter.

So I'm missing 2 levels in acc/eva, one in Def, one in ratt, 2 in macc/meva. Where could these be coming from, if it's not the first 6 abyssea zones?
Oh and my RoE quests done counter is at 542 atm.

So Camate dropped another hint saying 100 regular eschan kills gets you rank 3 mp/hp. Guess killing bunches does matter

JPs seem to have discovered that the Expeditionary Force Title unlocks 1x MACC Vorseal

If that's the case then I think it's gotta be one of multiple ways to unlock that Vorseal.
