Maybe a spare SMN for a second PD, Conduit nuking down offending sky gods? Though I do seem to recall Ouryu using Invincible, so that could just be its thing. The HF thing would be new, though.

This Kouryu isn't as apparent as Ouryu in terms of it's abilities, I'm not exactly sure what the deal with it's two-hours is, but I saw a JP group take it on, and it used Hundred Fist. All the summons were out, and being held by two plds (one had byakko/suzaku--other one had seiryu/genbu), and their main pld had Kouryu.
Other thing of note is it casts weird stuff, despite appearing to be earth-based, using earth abilities like geo breath/petri wing etc. Things in particular I caught it casting were earth spell line, thunder spell line, sleepga II, Bio IV, Aspir III.
Pre-Kouryu, Kirin seems pretty easy, he can be quickly burned to 50% without too much trouble, will probably only see one summon in the time, depending on group numbers, strength, and strategy. One thing to note though was Deadly Hold can randomly one-shot ochain plds, I guess if it doesn't get blocked, it's gonna hurt, but might be other factors at play too. From what I could see his regen is either mild or non-existent in both forms, and in Kirin form it didn't appear to have the same level of regain as normal Kirin--it seems quite a deal lower.
Did 3 Kirin attempts :
First pop, went with a Flaming Crush zerg, BP was doing 40~99k but missed half of the time when Feint was down, wiped at 47%.
Second pop, tried SC+MB Wind Blade, Wind Blade was doing 27k and 70k during MB. Several resists though, especially during back to back Wind Blades but I wasn't using a Pet MACC set at all. One PLD got killed by Seiryu at 70%~.
Third pop, tried melee zerg. ACC was bad with all the buffs, debuffs and SPs possible.
We were 16~18 ppl. Kirin seems to have around 2m HP and mini-Byakko 130k~ HP. I hope someone will confirm if HP scale with the party size.
Is there any strategy for Suzaku with its chainspell spam? Are people still doing the altitude trick with people on top of stairs/ledge and tank at bottom? Will people get the ban hammer for it?
Notice: I don't think people understand that melees are no good for any of these sky gods. You cannot bring your Warrior or Thief and except to do any sort of damage. Their evasion is too high even with torpor. The best strategies seem to revolve around Scholar skillchains and magic bursts.
Surely they wouldn't have made the battlefield cover two different heights if they didn't expect us to use that. As far as Suzy, I believe we had a geo doing vex attunement for our PLD. With the magicburst strat no one else was getting hit. We did not use the height advantage for any fight but Kirin.
Suzaku's Meteor only does 400~500 damage with Shell V, a WHM can easily keep everyone alive with Curaga.
No need for ES. Niv is a geo. We did have idris languor and focus though. Also Niv has best in slot gear for pretty much anything geo.
I'm almost positive Kirin's HP is scaling based on # of people. Other than that, same problem as everyone else: dealing with the adds before PLDs get raped.
Edit: Not so sure now that it scales. Looking back, it was taking similar damage as AV and HP was dropping about the same % per nuke as when we tried AV with way less people.
If you have enough people, the only way I can really see doing it is if you use like 4 or 5 PLDs...
2m is probably a rather accurate estimation of Kirin's HP (with 16 ppl at least). It took 1 min to bring it down to 50% on our first attempt with 2 Ifrit using Astral Conduit and we parsed roughly 1m.
Site note : Kouryu can cast Curse and Impact (was Darksday btw) and use 2 TP moves in a row, it did two Typhoon Wing back to back. Adds didn't pop all at once but much faster than during Kirin phase.
The first 50% was totally doable with just 2 paladins. I don't know if we got unlucky or what but Kouryu pretty much one shotted a PLD with breath damage at about 41% and then it was all downhill from there. I wonder if it would be best to aim for a 2 part zerg. Magic burst burn the first form and then switch to SMN for the later half. I think flaming crushes might do well if they had bolstered frailty and torpor and perhaps blazed languor and malaise (and I know the mages take down the first part very quickly with bolstered languor and malaise).
Flaming Crush also requires a RUN for Gambit, Rayke to suppress the fire SDT and Elemental Sforzo to avoid any potential death from AoEs. COR for Rolls and Dia II+Light Shot x2. THF for Larceny a possible Invincible SP and Feint (though I completely forgot to add Pet ACC in my set and to use AF for the DEX+75). We had a RDM for Frazzle III too.
Not sure when our next attempt will be, but we learned ignoring adds was a big mistake and we have to deal with them as soon as possible. MB'd tier6 does 60K~ to them, so pretty easy to take care of them in 1 SC>MB volley in a mage setup. Best case is it won't summon them anymore after phase 2. Worst case is it will keep summoning them at a pace of 1 every 1-2min and we'll have to MB Kouryu between adds.
Has anyone tested if pet Seiryu has the same weird hate mechanics as the main NM? We're just going to assume it does and have 1 PLD solely for that and only kill the other 3 pets as they pop.
