Simple: Seiryus gimick is to immediatly hate anyone who is doing Dark Based magic. Nukes of course, but even Frazzle will do. This is why in the JP video they use THFs only and no magic.

With that I think you mean "dark element alligned" magic, correct? So no Darkness skillchain either?
Are you sure it's just that? Sound strange, I don't think our SCH in our first attempt was casting dark magic, and I don't think the WHM and the GEO were either. The RDM probably did though.
Maybe the others used aspir or something, I'll ask them.

We've also had a GEO take hate with a Luopan like Sechs mentioned. Our current theory is that his hate mechanic has to do with the successful cast of spells on him in some interval related to his use of a TP move (i.e. slightly before, during, slighty after... not entirely certain).

Yet there is a way to avoid that, in that 18+ mins fight those japanese people do not make him turn around not even once, yet there some (moderate) spell casting, one tank even dies at a certain point.
The "Black Magic" thing might be part of the whole gimmick, but I'm afraid there's gotta be more than just that.

What if it's something really obscure? Like something related to the traits they speak of and possibly their opposites. Like for humes weak trait was apathy and the light you had to get for it in CoP was for hope? Doesn't work for all of them but I could definitely see some trolling like that... or maybe just going back and getting all the CoP lights since I think most just did their race

Has anyone tried the job-specific reforge materials? e.g. Raxa, Orichalcum Sheet, Akvan's Pennon, and/or Pil's Tuille for EV (PLD/WHM).

Going through all the September Update new items, pretty much all the armor is accounted for (enuma mantle and kerygma belt not accounted for yet) and most of the weapons. That only leaves the Deacon weapons, Alber Strap, Habile Mazrak, and Elis Tome as drops for the AAs. Kind of off-putting.

I'm thinking the item(s) are somewhat outdated. Scraps are used to pop the iLVL gods, so if SE is following that direction, would it not be safe to assume it's also something dated that we're not thinking of?

That "outdated" item isnt exactly something that doesnt make sense. Seiryu Scraps for Seiryu isnt much of a stretch, whereas theres no equivalent for AA's.

Having said that, has anyone tried using multiple Illuminink/Parchment in their trades? You can trade a stack of an item, and if it only needs one, it will only take one from the stack, so you could potentially use that to your advantage.

i tried throwing 97 aquarian tatters and didn't get anything either. Tried whole old abjurations, nothing.

There are equivalents, sort of. Scraps are synth items from the old gods' drops. The synth items from AAs (not the old old ones, but the middle ones that you pop with merit KIs) are the exalted lumber, sif's macrame, etc. Would not surprise me in the least if one of the four "types" is these synthed items.

Don't forget that there could also be pre-requisites that have yet to be cleared i.e. clearing Kirin or AV, since you couldn't get the Kirin KI without killing all 4 gods

edit: what if the stupid pop item requirement is like... Kill AA (mission), DM (mission), AA2 (VD), DM2 (VD)

Brought in two crafting mules to escha. One had completed SoA, the other had only gotten to Budding Prospects. Both are level 99 and have done no other content. The one that had completed SoA had available magic defense and rare enemy vorseal. The one that had not completed SoA only had magic defense.

That means completing SoA gives rare enemy vorseal.

As to the magic defense one there are 3 possibilities, only one of which is really plausible. Either A) Getting to Budding Prospects grants magic defense vorseal (unlikely), B) Something to do with crafting grants magic defense vorseal (unlikely), or C) completing the quest Beyond Infinity grants magic defense vorseal (likely).

Basically saying the ContentLevel is 140. 2 of the items needed are Ashen Crayfish and 10x Forgotten Thought. The Forgotten items have 5 types which would fit nicely. He then says that one of the items is rare to come by and wants to build up 10 sets for himself before revealing the rest.

Other ??? item said to be an easy craft item. Hint is given for it's JP name to be a "thing OF thing" which some people interpret as Anima (a little hard to explain). Now the rest of the topic is violently trying out items.

Could it be the recollections? Say, an anima, an Ashen Crayfish, ten Forgotten Thoughts, and a Recollection of Suffering to pop AA HMv2? Perhaps another item dropped from a Promy mob, like the hemisphere?
