    From my experience Idris Vex/Attunement wasn't blocking dispel, especially when you have a plethora of melee hitting it (i.e. lot of fed TP).
    It somehow reduces the number of spells dispelled per Dispelling Wind and greatly reduces the chance of them being dispelled, but it's nowhere near 100% resist. I had to re-do songs on BRD plenty of time, wasting Clarion Call and having to re-do the 2 fakes every time.
    Vex/Attu made a *noticeable* difference of course. If you can kill within one minute it's probably not that "vital" to bother to reapply buffs I guess. Our attempts were lasting longer than 1 min though (without SP abilities).


    I think 1550 Acc is enough to cap hit rate against him (1450 Acc + Idris Torpor).
    I'm somewhat optimist about the hit rate.
    Last time we tried our DDs didn't have a lot of JPs/Gifts. Cap was 1200 back then, Reisenjima Armor wasn't that common and nobody had HQ Abj gear.
    I'm pretty confident the situation nowdays would be much better acc-wise, if we were to re-try Seiryu.
    Still, back then it was an important cockblock (had to stack together a lot of buffs to allow DDs to hit reliably over 90%).


    * He kept hate for the rest of the fight.
    Having PLD spam damaging spells sounds like a neat idea I have to say. Might be the "key" into a somewhat solid enmity retention for the tank (making the rest of the fight pisscake, because seriously the wonky enmity was the only issue on Seiryu imho)
    If we were to try again I'll totally have a PLD doing that instead of RUN tank.

    For Seiryu I think you should just expect to lose hate and plan accordingly. You lose enmity fast enough with Mana Wall (and take almost no damage.) We did Comet + Death only today clearing it for people and I didn't even pull hate once (the SCH did, Stoneskin + Blink + PDT is enough to keep you alive though.) Also, for anybody who cares, Comet/Death seem to wreck all of the AA (except GK who doesn't take much from magic damage.) 100k Comet MBs...

    Will second above strategy. Was dualboxing BLMs, 1 would cast Death/Comet while the other stunned, and then vice versa. We also spread all the BLMs around because we only had malaise/languor but no focus/acumen to avoid conal/AoE buttfucking which worked wonders.

    The AAs get wrecked by magic in general, not just Comet/Death.
    We did them with our usual SCH SC + MB setup and they all die quickly if they don't get too happy on their SP spamming.
    It works on GK as well but it takes more time given his magic resistance and his higher HP pool.

    Yeah they've been lazy. What was these "abnormal actions" they're talking about?
    Pretty confident it's not about his hate thing, because to me that seemed to be part of his mechanics, not a "bug".

    The Dazzling Dolores thing was more specific, wasn't it something that happened when people did over a certain threshold of damage from behind her?

    Thought it was a similar thing, with hate possibly shifting to someone that cast on her. My observation wouldn't put it at a damage threshold or behind, since I've seen her beeline for the WHM off of a 0 damage Dia II, from the side.
    Then again, could be that something like that isn't supposed to trigger it, and that's what they fixed.

    A bit late, but I think it may actually be Death and Comet specifically. Some mobs (Byakko, August) take increases dark magic damage and I think the AA may be on this list too. I can't remember what my numbers were for elemental T6 on AA though, so I'm not completely certain.

    I don't think that's right. I've never seen 99,999 comets on anything except byakko and AAs

    currently nq listed as mattk15/att15/da2%, so assuming in reality matt on that is +10, which would make it match the other pieces which go 15/10+special on nq, 20/12 on hq.

    I bet the NQ Augment is 10 MAtk, 15 Attack, and 3% DA for consistency.

    Are people still killing Warder of Courage with the previous setups even after the Revitalizer nerf? Haven't read many posts about it after that.

    We had our first attempt yesterday and we couldn't get better than 48% HP left before first benediction.
    I have some random questions about which I've read stuff in this thread but I'd like some confirmations:


    1. Can you realistically lock (even with non-jp latency) WoC's SPs (after the first use) by using the same one right after? It seems like nobody is bothering to do that from this thread.
    2. I've seen people always bringing 2x PLDs. Why not 1 PLD and 1 RUN? Gambit and Rayke sound useful to me?
    3. Why aren't people using the same strategy as Kouryu for WoC? That is Nighterror spam during Bolster and stuff. I seem to remember Papesse managed to kill WoC with this setup, but he said he encountered some issues... can't remember which but in theory I can't see why it wouldn't work.
    4. With 12 people, how many BLMs and SCHs would you guys bring? Our setup was PLDx2, GEO, WHM, SCH, SCH - BLMx2, GEOx2, COR. (SCH swapped pt at start to MB the first Noctohelix2). I'm kinda wondering if the tank pt GEO really is necessary (was doing Vex/Attu). Not like Virelai can be blocked by that, even with Bolster, and not like it's needed for anything else (Meteor maybe?)
    5. Which ??? do you guys tipically use to pop? We used #6 yesterday simply because it was the only one free
    6. How long does Soul Voice lasts on WoC? Seems to last a lot...
    7. What does proccing white do on WoC? We did it twice, no clue how, but I couldn't tell what happened.

    We tried testing locking Call Wyvern using an addon to react quickly and it didn't seem to work. We may not have been close enough though so I don't know if it was a good test or not. I think in order to be conclusive, it should be retested at within 15 yalms. Our 5 min WoC set up is as follows.

    PLD GEO GEO RDM
    BLM BLM BLM BLM COR SCH

    We haven't bothered with RUN much for a while. It doesn't add much value since we're only using 2 Death per MB (if you space them out you can get 100k on each Death, even with bracelets up.) Our set up leaves room for error. Soul Voice lasts 90 seconds, Charm Buffer does not last long enough with 1 tank. We have survived it before but having a second tank to buffer would make it more reliable in that regard. That said, the fight is a gamble anyways. Our set up kills it fast relative to other groups (our best time is 4 mins 8 seconds.) The fewer times it uses SPs, the fewer chances it has of doing something annoying and wiping you or using Benediction. The amount of effort and time needed to lock SPs seems like it will outweigh any benefit of doing so. i.e., a 25 minute fight that is 95% reliable seems less optimal than a 5 minute fight that is 80% reliable.

    We may make an attempt with 10+ BLM and a RUN and see if we can kill it in 3 skillchains when we get enough BLM to do this.

    It's possible to lock a SP by spamming elemental nukes before/after WoC used a SP itself (it will trigger a !! white) but this seems a bit random.
    We killed WoC with BLMs.The gap in damage between Death and other dark based attacks is simply too high in this fight.

    How do you know that actually locked the SP? Unless it was Call Wyvern, it's unlikely that you'll observe the same SP again in a single fight even if it isn't locked.

    Also, in response to Sechs again. We have 2x GEO only. One of them does full time Vex/Attunement and we just leave the wynavs out. Stopping and killing them breaks the cadence and slows us down. With full time Vex/Atunement, a RDM can completely handle any healing required if you have a good PLD. Frazzle III + Idris Bolster Languor is enough to floor resist rates on Death during bracelets too, so you don't need a GEO in the BLM party. You should aim for 4 BLM if you have the resources to do so.

    Thanks for the tips but we need to think about something else, we usually have many more people...
    Did you feel one SCH was enough? I mean with the Voidstorm2 and SCs and stuff? We brought 2 to have more frequent SCs (basically we used Death each time it was up, recast is like 40 seconds or something I think?)

    How do you leave Wynavs out though? If you don't kill them fast enough WoC uses Mijin Gakure I thought, and that can easily wipe your alliance.
    Plus with your setup you're gonna miss both acumen and malaise, won't that gimp Death damage once he starts building resistance to dark magic?
