We rely on Tabula Rasa at around 60% and reset it between each fight. One Scholar works fine for us. WoC can use Mijin Gakure with wynavs out. This has wiped us, but often it doesn't (especially pre bracelets). It always uses Benediction before Mijin Gakure when in bracelets mode. We restart when this happens anyways and getting it to bracelets modes is fast. There isn't much to gain from clearing them. It costs you time to kill them. Overall I feel like it's worth it to ignore them, this fight is a game of chance after all and that's what I think gives you the best odds.

Also, be wise with how you add additional people. We don't bring everybody we have because it's one of those fights where doing that will cost you the win. If you have extra people, rotate them out for fights or encourage them to level and gear Black Mage or possibly Scholar. Depending on what jobs you have available, rotating might prove to be very handy. The super revitalizer change impacted how we do this fight in that a significant amount of time is spent waiting while people reset 2 hour between fights. 1x SCH, 1xGEO and sometimes 1x COR are the only jobs that need to reset. If you had an extra set of these jobs, they could reset while people did the nex fight.

Additionally, you mentioned something about dark resist and Geomancer spells that I didn't address. It doesn't buid resistance to dark magic. I don't know where you heard this from. There is a general magic damage adjustment that comes with clustered magic damage (i.e. casting 2x Death at nearly the same time will result in one of them doing significantly less damage.) This can be mitigated by coordinating your Death bursts. We have 2 BLM per burst. The first one casts Death 1~2 seconds after Noctohelix goes off. The second casts Death 4~5 seconds after this. Nobody else should cast anything (Aspir included) during this time. You can still burst Aspir after the second Death goes off. We use Languor, Malaise, Vex, and Attunement. There is also an increased amount of magic evasion (and possibly mdb/mdt) during bracelets. We Bolster Languor and Malaise during this mode. We also have Frazzle III for magic evasion reduction. Do this and you can still hit 100k deaths on all bursts during bracelets.

It has been discussed on JP forums/blogs and I saw the method on several videos (most are on nicovideo) where people are holding WoC and spamming T1 nukes. Effect is easily noticable when WoC starts using SP combos.

I see. That makes locking seem more viable for groups that don't have the resources to kill it fast enough.

    We experienced this ourselves.
Death started doing less damage after a while.
If this wasn't caused by resists, by what then? (not talking bout bracelets either of course)

I'm not talking about cluttered damage either, I'm talking about a progressive (and very small, compared to other monsters) damage reduction in death.

I've never observed this once in any of our WoC. The window for the magic damage adjustment to wear off is fairly long (like 5 seconds or so from the last cast), and if you're using death without capped MP obviously that's going to affect things too.

Sadly, unless a clear link between each SP/elemental nuke is established, this seems way too random to be viable and trying to randomly restrict the number of SPs might also increase the chances of seeing the most terrible ones more often after.

The old cumulative resist update should cause your likelihood of resisting to go up... pretty sure elemental magic was listed on there as well as debuffs and such... But Resists wouldn't cause a small progressive dmg decreases it would be in like 1/2 1/4 1/8 etc. Instead you'd progressively get more of these big dmg differences

I don't remember any cumulative resist increase other than some that were specific to enfeebling magic (Gravity, Sleep).

Our SCH uses any combination of Super Revit/Tabula + COR doing RD/WC and never has issues with stratagems. Lately we've been killing it without TR wearing off, and we use it right around when bracelets pop up. You'll maybe run into issues on your first kills (I know we did back when revitalizers still existed) due to it being slower, but it gets significantly quicker with experience.

It doesn't mijin if wynavs are out, it's still just one of its possible SPs. When it gets into bracelets mode it does Invinic->Bene->Mijin as one of the triplet SPs, and it's game over after Benediction usually anyway. You don't need acumen at all, I've never hit lower than 99,999 Death on 2 of my characters without acumen across 10+ kills and 15+ attempts, Bolster Malaise is absolutely massive, and Death already does huge damage when properly geared.

For what it's worth, we also recently used:

    PLD GEO GEO
BLM BLM BLM GEO SCH COR (Geo was doing Focus/Haste) and still killed it in 5.5-6.5 minutes consistent, so there's still some flexibility as long as you can make up the m. acc loss from no Frazzle III.

You might be right but could swear it said more and clearly effects more (we all know about stun walls for example). Can't find the general one now because searching thru old update notes is rather time consuming but I did find the one on magic dmg. They actually do say resistances increases but

They clearly mean something more like SDT and no note of it decreasing or going away which obviously does happen and I'm sure they said on the other similar update

I think I used the wrong wording earlier. I didn't necessarily mean "resist".
We just noticed that Death damage did get progressively lower (altough very slow compared to other monsters like some T3 in Ru'aun or Reisenjima who build "resistance" to a single element in a much faster/noticeable way) but I'm not really sure what caused that, other than ruling out Bracelets and cluttered damage.
Our SCs were more than 5 seconds apart from each other. Our BLMs death recast was something like 40 seconds if not more. We had 3. Two were casting death at the same time, following turn was a solo BLM, then back to the 2 and so on, rinse and repeat.

I dunno, with our best attempt being 48% before benediction this seems like something that's still far away for our current setup...
Still, I got some cool tips and ideas from these comments so I'm thankful to all of you.
Now it's all a matter of how to combine the higher number of players we have... sigh, it's always the same story.
    I loathe thee, scaling system!
When do you guys use Bolster btw? Right at start or sometime after pop?

Last thing: do the temp items effects get canceled if you use them before popping a geas fete? Or can a player pre-buff before popping (to save a few seconds?)

I mean within a single magic burst, you should stagger your Deaths to be far apart. Noctohelix itself activates the resist, hence waiting a bit for even the first cast. Bracelets come out at 60%, and you will suffer a huge damage penalty (probably from 1/2+ resist) if you don't have Bolster down. So it may be in your benefit to put Bolster down at around 65% or so. In regards to temp items, I don't think they wear off, although I dunno why you would want to use them beforehand. The duration on them is pretty small.

With that patch in particular, I believe it is a reference to magic damage and the clustered casting magic damage adjustment (which seems to gradually be reduced to nothing in the span of around 5 seconds.)

Yeah that one is clearly just referencing magic dmg was all I could find at the time. But it is something to note that it doesn't say it goes down so could've added something else. Also something to note that it says it increases by dmg dealt so might be a good idea to really gimp the skillchain spells

Hmmm anyone know when the cumulative resist for enfeebles was? Went look thru all the update notes on POL from dec 2009 to as early as they go at jan 2005 and couldn't find it. In other news I'm now thoroughly nostalgically depressed. Clicking each month one at a time and seeing all those rl fun events, random stories they'd write, collaborations with other websites, fan fests etc that I couldn't do at the time cause of military and now they don't really do really hits me in the feels

Ok killed it once with a very smooth (and lucky) run that took us... bit less than 15 minutes.
    13 people in alliance
    Setup:

    BLMx4, SCH, COR
PLDx2, GEO, GEO (idris), WHM, COR
    RDM (alone, lol... Frazzle2 onry)

We made use of many of the tips we found out in here, thanks a lot for them, but I hate how this fight seems to be luck-related, wish SE could do something to make it less random...

Fight is definitely luck related, which made it a pretty smooth fight when things go right. Thanks to all for the tips on here that we used toward getting our win today like Sechs touched on above.

We did have charm go off but with 2 pld tanks only 1 got charmed, slept him, other pld took over and popped charm temp item to prevent it on him. Did not have no one else get charmed, and woke up sleeping pld once he was uncharmed and continued as normal. Charm really ended up being no problem. Got lucky with no benediction or mijin being a issue especially since the fight lasted that long with that many people. The pld that was charmed that got woken up after being slept popped his charm temp item to prevent being recharmed and started tanking it again preventing him from getting charmed again.
