He did Soul Voice only once, we had two tanks. Charm Buffer, good timing and luck saved us.
He didn't Benediction and didn't Mijin, which was a huge luck on our side.

We noticed, like someone else already said, that after he uses bracelets he uses in sequence Invincible, Benediction and Mijin Gakure.
For some reason that time he didn't Invincible after Bracelets, and his sequence kinda got stopped.
We had two people spamming T1 nukes on WoC but nobody noticed any proc going on, so I'm not really sure what could have caused this behaviour...

Well with two tanks we can survive Soul Voice once per fight, but that's it. If he were to use Soul Voice again in that fight it would've been over xD

A bit late here but couldn't you use fealty to avoid another SV or 3?

Fealty does not work against Virelai.

Ah didn't know. Haven't fought it yet. Didn't know some charms weren't avoidable like that

I imagine it doesn't work because fealty is for enfeebling magic and virelai is a song.

That's what the help text says but that's not really what it does. It work on all kinds of things that aren't even magic at all. Like it works on every monster move charm I've seen(though once it was only a partial resist). And randomly lowers a lot of big dmg moves too. Guess they could of coded it really weird to work on things casted with enfeebling skill and things not cast at all but not on other stuff.

I dunno, I just went by the lines that multiple people reported (here and on FFXIAH) that Fealty didn't work against WoC's Virelai.
It was info from the very first attempts to kill it, so maybe it's wrong, I dunno.

What I'm saying for that is when you get charmed by a monster TP move it has its own icon (the heart one), like it's an enfeeble. Virelai you have the note icon, like all songs. Songs are in their own category, they aren't even magic (you don't get aggro when casting them). You might argue ninjitsu is the same way, but its effects give same icons as magic. Songs do not however, they always give a note icon.

Pretty sure that's just a property of them being able to stack with other types of enfeebling effects. Charm just happens to be an inapplicable case

No, otherwise there would be different icons for different types of songs... but they are all the same. Also, GEO/INDI spells stack with the same type of enfeebles, even have the same icon. Songs are completely in a different category. All other negative effects on others have an enfeebling type icon for each different enfeeble, but songs do not, they only have the generic song icon.

There are different icons for the different song types, they just use the same graphic. Otherwise people wouldn't be able to alter the dat to display different colored notes for different songs. Same as curse/bane/zombie (st-20).

Virelai uses the normal charm icon/status, and does not have unique icon data; you'll see a heart, not a music note. Threnody, Elegy, Lullaby, Requiem, and Nocturne do have unique icon data.

Anyway, Tenebrae Pflug works pretty well against Virelai, but even still I think there's likely a cap to how much resistance you can get from gear + traits + abilities.

Turns out we are both right and wrong:

So I go to Brenner PLD + BRD to test this. With Fealty on I tested the following:

    Pining Nocturne - landed
Elegies - resisted (landed easily when Fealty was off, so not a magic accuracy issue)
Lullabies - resisted (landed when not using Fealty. Interesting note: this actually gives the zzzz icon instead of song icon)
    Threnodies - landed
    Requiems - landed
    Finale - landed
Maiden's Virelai - no effect (both for Fealty on and off, so I take it to be that you just can't use it in Brenner). Since WoC landed it through Fealty, going to count it as landed.

Conclusion: Only elegy and lullaby are considered enfeebling magic, other songs are not.

Wonder if SE coded fealty to work these ways specifically or it's some weird random spaghetti

Might be related to "Resist" traits, as I recall Lullaby and Elegy are affected by Resist Sleep/Slow. Perhaps Fealty provides the same protection that Resist traits do, and that Virelai ignores Resist Charm?

Pining Nocturne is the equivalent of addle but still landed. I think the only enfeebles that don't have resist traits are frazzle and distract. Correct me if I am wrong.

Is a trick to tenodera known? I can kill it using melee + magic in about 10 minutes, but by 50% it's got what feels like ~80% PDT and MDT. Seems a bit ridiculous when every other T1 can be done in a single magic burst or under 2 minutes with RNGs.

I dualboxed it thf and whm using August, Amchuchu, koru and aprururu. The only key I found was making sure to knock silence/para off mages quick and try and fight it from the back or side so as to avoid it's 1% death prophet. I think each fight took maybe about 5 min? I think my boost-DEX would last the whole time.
