Only just now realized that the quests for the legendary ring will no longer be accessible once Legion launches. Didn't finish it on either of my chars and I really don't like missing out on lore like this, but given MoP's precedent, I probably should have known better.

I'm on the second to last set of stuff. Not enough time to finish

I'm in the same boat. If I do as much as possible I could probably get to the last chapter, but unless Blizzard ups the drop rates from raids it's just mathematically impossible to finish before the 30th.

In my playing, that's one thing that's seriously bugging me. Removed and broken content, and not so great flow between what is there.

I just worked through MoP, and between the Vale changes and other things, the storyline flow is completely fractured to hell. The dungeons also don't always seem to fit in well, Stormstout Brewery and Shado-Pan Monastery flowed (though things get broken right after Shado-Pan), but I never even got prompts to do Jade Temple or the Seige of Niuzao. Though this is a similar issue in WoD, only getting prompts for Auchindoun and Spires (even then, The Order of the Awakened seem to come out of nowhere).

And with the Vale, it's like, until you do The Fall of Theramore, it's still there and usable. There's the two versions of The Serpent's Heart in Jade Forest. They obviously had the tech to run multiple versions of the Vale before they started changing it, but just didn't bother.

I really would like to play through something like a legacy server. Or even a Legacy-Progression server, though the modifications for that wouldn't have the support of purists.

Yeah I am really annoyed at the removal of content as well. The treasure run on Isle of Thunder, for example, really bugged me, and it was because people were getting a couple hundred extra gold a week? Well shit, I can do that from running old raids, and they haven't removed those. I still have a key to do the treasure run, but it won't matter to me because no matter what I do, I'll never be able to get all of the achievements I still needed from in there, and it bugs me that I missed out on them, not for lack of trying, but I put it off because I figured I could come back at my leisure and do them later.

I'm glad to hear that there will be a Dalaran hearth, but what about our class halls? I'll keep the Garrison hearth because it's the fastest way to get to Draenor. Shrine keeps me accessible to everything else, so not changing that.

I wish I had done the MoP legendary now, looking back, and the regret I had over that one is the main reason I decided to go for the ring this expansion.

Some classes have an order hall hearth, the rest get there from Dalaran. Druid's, Mages, Monks, DK's and maybe Warlocks have a hearth. Warriors don't have a hearth but each zone has a way for them to get their classhall so they don't have to return to dalaran.

Oh I guess that's not so bad. I am hoping that they learned from Warlords and I'm not going to feel like I need to be in my class hall all the fucking time like I felt chained to my garrison.

Honestly there isn't really any reason to spend much time in your class hall once you finish the campaign, they are nothing like garrisons. You stop to pick up or start research for your artifact, put points in the artifact tree, change appearance of it, or complete a mission which you are doing at most 2 at a time.

So they're already underwhelming? No reason to be there? Nothing to do or just that Blizz didn't want another solo place where a player could accomplish everything, thus killing city populations?

Turns out my server, Turalyon, is near the bottom of population, for servers. Eight from the bottom. -_-

I'm not really sure what you mean to underwhelming? Did you want garrison's 2.0? They aren't designed to be a central hub.

Not particularly. I want what the NPC system of Garrisons was touted to be when people were drinking the WoD Blizzcon kool-aid: NPCs that go out with you and get shit done. Hirelings, Fellowship quest in XI, Chocobos (that talk) in XIV. Meaningful quests/missions with important NPCs given that we're basically the rulers of our specific classes' world at this point.

I've never used anyone in a Garrison to help with anything. Are they supposed to help out with stuff?

That sounds stupid, keep it in those bad games.

Yes, if you have a specific garrison building built and Level 2, or maybe three, you can have a bodyguard out and about with you, and they are a significant help. They range from DPS, Heal, and Tank, depending on what you need, and I actually forgot to take mine into Tanaan yesterday. Wondered why it was harder to do things.

There are bodyguards from your class halls. Difference is they actually matter to the lore.

I.E Demon Hunters get Akama/Shade of Akama, Monks get Chen Stormstout, Druids get Broll Bearmantle (fuck yes)
