The first fight is actually pretty easy to do with a knife. Just stand next to his left side and knife away as fast as possible. Takes some tries to get it down, but after that you can basically clear the fight without using any ammo. Might just use a granade and a flash bang for support.

The second fight - if you immediately throw a granade towards the shutters, he should break them without playing the claw game hide and seek with you. There's also a safe spot you can stand it to avoid the claw altogether, but I'm not sure if that wasn't patched. On the platform, you can use a flashbang if you want him to stay longer in the place waiting for the crate to come. Flamethrower is also great to damage him more when you're waiting on the crate.

Third fight - after you shoot his eyes and he gets down on his knees, one again go the knife route. This time you want to be slashing from his behind, because if you slash the eyes in the front he will get up faster. As Leon, when he goes to grab the central piece to throw at you, go crazy with the flamethrower on him.

Yeah knife is secretly a great boss killer. Moreso on PC because higher FPS = higher damage output, but it's fine on console too especially on Birkin 1 who stands there for a good 10 seconds just writhing when the fight starts. For Birkin 1 bring a 2nd knife (3rd maybe if you have infinite knife and use it last) and between that, maybe the hand grenade on the way there, and some handgun bullets you'll have him down quick.

Not much to add on 2 specifically but if you want to go for a 1-crane kill you can rack up some knife damage while he's downed (if Leon you can torch him first).

Supposedly there's a leaker that is saying REmake 3 could be out as soon as 2020, and that it's not being developed by Capcom. As for who is developing it, the leaker only says that it's "very interesting."

Not sure if I should be worried lol

The guy who leaked the announcement of RE7. He also says RE8 is in development for the next gen of consoles.

2020 makes sense, next year they're releasing another remake that isn't a RE title (potentially Dino Crisis, we'll see at E3). But the rest of this leak really worries me and Dusk Golem has a really good track record so it's most likely true...
Based on previous information RE3 should be open world so... we can probably guess the developer from there.

I gotta say, cruising with unlimited rockets and a chain gun is incredibly fun.

Discounted on Steam right now, finally bought it.

I think shit just got real; had a few close calls here and there, some worse, but overall, I felt I could handle the difficulty on Standard. Mr. X changed that, so goddamn scared of those footsteps.

    Spoiler: show

Worst, however, was when I was preparing to sprint through the western part to unlock the room with the clubs lock. No sign of Mr. X, wanted to just sprint forward and boom, Licker jumps out of dark corner to my right. I just barely escape to the room without getting hit, flee inside, feeling safe. Single zombie barges in, no biggie, even though the room is a dead end. Right as the zombie goes down, Mr. X enters, Licker supposedly still in front of the door. So I kite the guy around the shelf, pick up everything in the room, then prepare to escape the Licker outside. No Licker there, so I keep running, get bitten, down to red, just barely stumble into the room which you escape through a window by climbing onto a table, all while hearing them coming closer because I'm just barely limping, but make it through the window. Felt safe for all of 0.5 seconds when the goddamn Licker jumped across my screen again. Tried shooting it once or twice, but I had already given up by then.

Feels like I've been in fight-or-flight mode for almost an hour, I need a break. Always preferred Silent Hill for the scare factor, but this is way different. Legitimately fearing for my life here.

Yeah. Those footsteps keep your heart fucking racing lol. Even when you know he's rooms away, it just feels like a countdown till he comes to fuck your shit up again.

Bought this on the PS sale for $20. Maaan I feel like I'm doing terrible. Playing on normal and just got out of the very first Tyrant boss fight with Leon and I came out of it with no health items and like 3 handgun bullets left to my name. I'd probably be better off if I had started over after realizing how many bullets zombies can actually absorb, even with head shots, but just said fuck it and kept going. Haven't died yet though, so that might count for something.

X Gonna Give it To Ya.
Died twice now. Once shortly after first boss fight when I got trapped in a one way hall by zombies with no bullets and herbs, second time by one of two lickers who got me when running from Mr. X.

Gotta admit, I'm not a fan of Mr. X. I know he made the game for a lot of people, but I prefer slow, tension building, atmosphere. Mr. X just turns the game into "ignore everything and just run real fast." It makes the game more difficult for sure, but to me it makes the game less scary.

I might need to just start over. Screwed myself over on resources so early in the game.

X never made me ignore everything. Just nervous as fuck and super tense knowing he was always close. Never stopped me from losing him and then doing everything I wanted though lol

If you're ignoring everything just to run from Mr. X, then you're doing it wrong. He should be tense and unignorable, but isn't the be all end all. He can lose track of you if you move far enough away, and if you hear his footsteps nearby and you're quiet enough, he wont be able to find you as long as he isnt already walking in that direction.

By now you should be aware enough of the map to know the circular layout so you can run where you need to while avoiding Mr. X directly.

I can't source it, but iirc, ever since RE4 the series has had a rubberband mechanic, where if you're landing shots consistently and whatnot, the zombies become tougher/you're less likely to get headshots. Regardless of your difficulty setting.
    Basically "Doing well? Fuck you."

Yeah, the difficulty adjust iirc. Honestly, with aimed shots I never felt low on ammo but I did have to swap between pistol and shotgun often.

I miss like 1 out of 10 head shots on zombies. Head shots, unless they critical, seem to taking 5+ shots to down them, but even then not necessarily taking them out. Since first boss fight, I've been incredibly low on ammo and have resorted to leaving most zombies I run into unmolested, which is a growing issue when trying to keep away from Mr. X.

After I first ran into him, he seemed to be specifically following me no matter where I went so I thought maybe he had some AI cheating sense to know where I was, but I suppose I was making a lot of noise what with the two lickers and newly spawned zombies trying to fuck me up. Took a break after the death and hadnt tried again yet but I'll switch up tactics.
