From the NPR article, he had sex with two 17 yr old prostitutes, although he had requested younger. While it's acceptable to have sex with a 17 yr old, paying raises flags.
Part of his plea bargain is that he'll pay 1.4mil ($100k per victim).

I guess I should expand on the underage sex. Where he had sex with them, the age of consent is 17, but prostitution is illegal, so he is fucked.
It's nice to see jareds career ended and started the same way.

One more.
I'm dead.
To run it back man, yeah I think they are ruined. They will spend years not only trying to rebrand themselves, but also trying to disassociate themselves from anything Jared Fogle, something that they just reached the 15 year mark of with the company. Jared was the one great success story for any American fast food company and helped them make millions upon millions in branding. I mean, they were about to rebrand him to help stagnant sales.
There's a difference between say, Burger King using The King and Subway -- Jared Fogle was originally a normal guy that was used as a brand. With it came the weight loss success story, which really brought in the numbers, because it literally transformed the outlook of the company to that of a "healthier option" to McDonalds, Burger King, Wendy's etc. Now Subway has to work to erase 15 years of the man, and still attempt to maintain it's former image that he brought.
he was a big guy
Ruined? This is just free publicity
They don't have to spend time or money disassociating with Jared. Just don't associate with him lol. This isn't bad at all. Nike, Gillette, etc didn't have a problem when they had to drop Tiger Woods for cheating on his wife, or Kobe for rape allegations, or whatever else with whatever other famous dumbass. Those are just the things people have seen plastered around for months at a time. I know a guy who's the face of their company and been banned from countries following rape/assault allegations being plastered all over every online media outlet and some big news orgs and it marked a positive growth in business because of the exposure
He had been with Subway for 15 years now? No wonder he decided it was time to move on.
I don't think you understand the fact that the company built it's image around his success story. It's that big a deal. It won't just be a cut-and-run type of thing with other celebrities. The other companies that you mentioned reach various levels of success before they branded some of the celebrities they had to disassociate with; Subway didn't reach major success until Jared came along.
It's not that big of a deal bro. Subway is a franchise, nobody owning the little shops is at all associated with Jared - nobody's going to care. Their market share wont suffer at all. What are they going to lose business to because their spokesperson's a pedo? Quiznos? lol
I guarantee, across the world, the little subway shops will increase the # of customers for the next few weeks of the memage and news coverage. And nobody's even slandering Subway's name because of this, this is pure +++
I think if this had happened 10 years ago, it would have ruined them. But they are fine now. Most people I talked to were like "does he still work for them?"
He's nowhere close to the big deal he used to be.
Quiznos has a new slogan
Spoiler: show
Firehouse is good tho. Go in there and sprinkle some Mad Dog 357 on your sandwich, it'll light your ass up.
