Enthusiastic about this console's potential.
A lot of people are bringing up the 4G RAM. Didnt the Wii U only have 2 and 1 was committed entirely to system processes only?
Dear god. How...beautiful.
I don't think SE would sink full on funds for a FF6 remake until they see how the FF7 remake truly does. That said, Cloud in Smash is a big hint I think. I still think the Switch is going to get the FF7 remake.
Half the memory + being an entirely different architecture severely limits the consoles ability for being a part of multi platform releases. While yes you can argue "well I didn't buy it for those" it's a factor that affects the bottom line of the publishers and would encourage them to not release games.
Were we still getting a Nintendo Direct at some point soon for more info on this? Or is this all we get for a while? Because I still have a lot of questions that need some answers about this console. >.> I am still probably getting it day 1 anyways since I do really enjoy Nintendo first party titles.
I'm just happy there's no fucking gimmick. It's just a portable console. That's it. That's all it needs to be. No goofy motion control or gyroscopic control emphasis. I feel that a lot of their flagship titles (Star Fox, Kirby, etc) have suffered because they had to make games around whatever gimmick they were pushing at the time. Hopefully, we'll get the sequels these franchises deserve.

There are still motion sensors apparently
That and the touchscreen are giving me hope this will be BC with a majority of Wii U titles. With the cart format, I don't know how they do it without either being very redundant (have the Wii U stream to the Switch) for free, or charge 5-10 bucks a pop to download it onto whatever online service they set-up to be accessed on the Switch.
Theres no need to abandon the motion stuff entirely, just basing everything around it is difficult. It works great for games like Zelda and Metroid Prime, not so great for titles like Mario and Other M.
Now the DQ11 infrastructure makes sense. Seems the option between <60hz 1080p PS4 + inferior supplemental 3DS version> or <all-in-one Switch 60hz 1080p / Switch 720p portable version> was a plan SE had all along. That's really ingenious. DQ11 will move a lot of Switch units in Japan.
Very happy with what we've seen so far and wow it's coming out in march so that's a +. I'm really really hoping with this they end up stopping their handheld console line so we get console pokemon. A price still needs to be confirmed but 300 would be perfect, 350 is what it will likely be but I feel like it'd be worth it, 400 fuck that. Please let us use any SD card for storage cause this is what killed vita for me and here's hoping the system has strong backwards compatibility lineup right away.
RIP Wii U which only lasted a little over 4 years.
If they add backwards compatibility with WII U and then somehow backwards integrate achievements then I may have a new favorite console. That being said I don't think they will do the achievements =\
I need a new Xenoblade game for me to jump on this
If so, hope it goes back to the storytelling of Chronicles rather than X.
I hope so too. But I will take a world like the one in X. That shit still blows my mind to this day.
Or they could also be nice and work with Bamco to give us a real Xenosaga 1-3 HD compilation.
Rather have new games if I had to pick.
