it's all those damn safety nets they have to keep paying for
Every time someone brings up Apple products near me all I can think about is that stupid factory where the biggest cause of workplace accidents is suicide by jumping off the roof, and so the fix to their problem was of course to simply install nets around the building. Fucking sheeple
Thought the PS4 was making like $18 a unit from the get-go?

The estimated bill-of-materials for both the PS4 and the Xbox One was lower than their sticker price, which is what that $18 number comes from (or $28 in the case of the XB1). However, that cost does not factor in distribution/shipping. Technically, they were probably breaking even or losing a small amount of money on the console, but at a low enough margin that it'd be offset by typical add-ons like a game and extra controller.
It was a massive improvement over the 360 (which cost an estimated $126 or so more to make than it sold for), or the PS3 ($241-306 more to manufacture than MSRP, depending on model). Likely in large part due to using largely off-the-shelf parts for 8th gen. The Switch is basically doing that too, just with mobile parts.
Oh, also Nintendo chief suggessted there would be some occasions that consumers can actually test play Switch before launch. Good!
Mr. Kimishima reiterated his remark on 3DS today: will continue supporting it and make games for it. Switch isn't a 3DS replacement.
The DS was also specially billed as NOT a GBA replacement, but its popularity caused them to change gears.

Capcom is trying to decide which PS4 & XBone games to Port overhttp://www.capcom.co.jp/ir/english/d...016_2nd_02.pdfIt is excellent to have the market invigorated with new hardware launches. As a software publisher, we endeavor to develop games that offer enjoyment best suited to each piece of hardware’s features and target users. Following first party, in order to introduce our own content we are currently moving forward with internal planning and analysis as a partner company.
We are currently carrying out research with regards to multiplatform implementation of software for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on to the Nintendo Switch and thus are unable to comment at this moment. However, we do feel that there are differences in the desired direction and the play-style of the Nintendo Switch and those of the PlayStation 4 or Xbox One. At Capcom, we determine which platform to release a title for after considering the features of both our software and the hardware in question, believing we must bring the enjoyment of our games to their maximum potential.
Best tldr I've ever seen.

Wasn't it expected to be $299+? Price that that would get it into a lot of homes I'd think. I'd buy it without question for first party titles alone at $250, not that there was much question on getting it or not anyways, just a matter of when.
