Nintendo SWITCH(NX) Information - March 3, 2017

Looks like Nintendo France may have jumped the gun a bit on games at the upcoming Switch events. Nintendo France is running contests for people to get a chance to attend Switch events, and they're spreading them across their various social media accounts. One of these contests popped up on the Splatoon Facebook page in France, and it had the following question.
"What makes you want to play Splatoon on the Nintendo Switch the most?"
This seemed to indicate that Splatoon might be playable at the event, which would be the very first indicator of what games to expect at the Switch events. Since Nintendo France originally posted, they have since removed the question on their Facebook page and scrubbed all mention of that portion of the contest.

3/19/17 makes sense from that Gamestop (?) picture with regards to release, since Nintendo hasn't released a console on a day that isn't named after gross incandescence since the SNES which came out on a friday.

Super Mario Frost Land doesn't sound like a full title, but just a demo stage personally.

Really torn about that presentation list though, because this would be the first time that "Super Mario RPG" means Super Mario RPG and not a Paper Mario and Mario + Luigi title. I don't want to get my hopes up, but Booster commanding a horde of rabbids just sounds brilliant.

According to my roommate pre-orders will go live on the 13th, which is friday

Not sure about online, they just have the skews for them in their system to start taking pre orders on friday, they have placeholder dates atm but they get updated automatically when release dates are announced.

It also looks like a fucking awful design for a dpad. Why wouldn't Hori just ape the general design from their Fighting Commander series of controllers?

I guess it just depends on what you're expecting. I'm mostly just expecting the same exact thing to happen with third party support again, but I mostly only buy Nintendo consoles for their first party titles anyways (and I guess a few other games like Xenoblade X and whatever other JRPGs they manage to pick up).

edit: Just have to hope Nintendo actually releases more games this time, unlike the Wii U.

Regardless of what I said earlier in the thread about not suckering me again, if the system launches at $250, I think it's p.much an auto buy anyway. At $500, fuck that. But seeing as how both other next gen consoles regularly are offered with a game for that price, I'm pretty sure that's a safe bet. I've heard of a Splatoon pack in, but I'm not interested in that in the slightest. I've wasted $250 on far worse things.

JRPGs in generally have me hopeful for this system, the idea of grinding on the go is intriguing.

Even at that price point, it's a no-go until the first price drop or first sale that bundled 2-3 games with it. Don't forget, people still feel cheated with the Wii U and it's support, and most of us got it for >$300. A $250 price point at launch just means this goes from "LOL FU Nintendy, not falling for that again" to "I guess when I'm ready for another portable system I have no real choice except to pick this up".
