I have to go to a show tonight but I may be checking this thread to rely on you all if it goes up tonight so I can grab one on my phone since I won't be home (and they will likely only be available for under 10 minutes I'm assuming)

I'm assuming Amazon and some online sites will be tonight. GameStop is reported as being at opening tomorrow.
I find that image of the pro controller pretty difficult to believe because it's almost identical to the Xbox controllers and surely that design is patented.
Prediction Time!
March 19 Release. (With the caveat that March 17th is entirely probable, but Nintendo normally releases consoles on Sunday.)
$300 base price, $350 "Premium" model with more storage. $400 bundle with an extra controller + Smash + MK8 or +Zelda with a Zelda controller.
Mario and Zelda available on release. Metroid shown off and given a firm release window.
Mother 3 available on release, along with other "benchmark" GBA titles to kick off the VC.
System will be able to deal with PS4 level graphics, but only at 30 fps max. Games like Smash however will still run at 60 without issues.
Online will be tied to separate log-in ID's, with "friend codes" being used to approve adding a friends profile to your friends list. This code will now be tied to one online interface Nintendo will use uniformly going forward.
System gets ~5 hours of unconnected battery life (roughly same as 3DS XL), but can be charged with external battery options.
Trophy like system introduced for achievements.
Teasers for Pokemon, Pikmin 4, Animal Crossing. Bayonetta 3 unveiled along with Bayonetta amiibo
3rd party reel, will score a few surprises but nothing too dramatic like FFXV being ported over.
Nintendo will save one big 1st party reveal for the very end and a big name 3rd party title for the middle of the event.
2 new characters for Smash NX.
A lot of that may be pie in the sky, but I feel like Nintendo halted Wii U development when they did for this very reason. I think theyve got enough on their docket now to release almost monthly 1st party titles for the first year and have given 3rd party teams a far enough out heads up to have strong stuff ready for launch.
Dat retweet

ahahahaha thats a good one
i will wait 1 year or more and see how the software supply and online part evolves on the switch. So not gonna fall for Nintendos empty promises again. Obviously if there are alot of very good 1stparty titles i will get it, but until there is a handfull of them nope! not gonna happen (remakes/remasters dont count for me)
I predict a shitty online infrastructure with 3rd party support dying off six months into the console's life after a slew of hacked port jobs. 1st party support will die down to a release once every 6-8 months with the nintendo threads only getting bumped when there's a VC release of decades+ old games.
We've gone through this shit every generation for as long as most of the people on this forum have been alive. Every single time people want to get excited for Nintendo, and for a month we should be, we get fucking shafted on support because their competitors just do everything better except appeal to the nostalgia. Every. Fucking. Time. There isn't a soul that should be excited for this shit because Nintendo has given us zero evidence in the past two and a half decades that they know how to maintain 3rd party relations nor do they know how to create a proper online environment.
People claim they're cool with only 1st party support, and that's fair, but that's only because they have the disposable income to not give a shit. That's not the same as "hey, this is actually a pretty decent product".
I'm excited just because this is the first time in nearly a decade and a half that their console didn't rely on a new control scheme. I get wanting to explore with movement controls or the WiiU pad, but it hampered the core experience for many games that weren't properly built for the experience, or the core performance of the controls just didn't carry over well. Even Twilight Princess was kind of a wash for me because some of the movement controls just didn't work well (shield bash anyone?) and having controls fail you during a game really diminishes the experience.
That said, I agree. Temper your expectations because their track record is shit. Feels like we need an "I want to believe" poster with a Switch shopped in. I'll likely get it because fuck the WiiU and BotW looks great.
I just want console Monster Hunter and new Zelda. GIVE IT TO ME
Honestly speaking, I have a high end gaming pc, a PS4, a Wii U and a 3DS, I can count one one hand the number of games i've played on my ps4 since buying it, most games I would have considered for ps4 came out for pc as well, so I got it for pc, my Wii U got a shit ton of play because the exclusives I did buy for it were fantastic, I will buy a Switch without a second thought, especially if the rumoured mario rpg looks good.
Well gl to all of you staying for the conference and trying to preorder if it goes up tonight
I'm going to bed and will watch it tomorrow night with the GF
Yup. Same here. It's going to be a niche product, but I know that going in. I have enough scenarios where a portable console will be fun to have, so it's a buy for me. I don't give a flying fuck about it having the next call of duty or any of that yearly garbage people go nuts for.
I look at it differently. An Amazon ore order costs me nothing so if I'm able to pre order it then I can decide if I want it or sell it for a 500% markup on release day
