33% price from US to CA increase or 25% discount from CA to US. Maths
Not worth it at launch unless you haven't gotten a Wii U. But honestly if you've gone this far without a Wii U why are you looking at a Switch now?
Fanboyism ho! Can't wait for Splatoon 2.
Canadians are just salty because buying the base console, zelda, and a extra controller would cost more than a PS4 Pro.
But that's true in the states, too...
For a console way less powerful then a PS4 pro
So their paid online chat service is literally a phone app.

Going to preface this by saying: I'm not buying as switch at launch. Wasn't going to before all this and it obviously hasn't changed anything for me. But...
What the hell are people freaking out about the console price for? I'd have to double check, but fairly sure Nintendo hasn't launched a home console for less than $299 since the Wii, and that was $250. All Xbox's have been $299 and up at launch. PS1 and PS2 were $299, and PS3 was freaking $499... and PS4 was $399. Hell, even the original 3DS was $250.
The price will drop eventually and hopefully by then some good games beyond Zelda will be out or at least announced. I get the annoyance at controllers being overpriced, I'm sure there's some stupid gimicky thing involved in the joycons driving up that price, but I don't really get why a glorified WiiU Pro controller is like $20 more than the already kinda overpriced Wii U pro controller. But whatever, I'm sure the ugly Hori one will work just as well.
So let me see if I understand and use Canadian price as exemple
Console 399.99
Extra joystick ( to play with a friend or kid or w/e) 80$
1 game 79.99
Including Québec taxes that's like 650$
Lol
Just buy Zelda WiiU version if you have the System. right now you are buying an expensive dust collector at launch. So let me see if I understand and use Canadian price as exemple
Console 399.99
Extra joystick ( to play with a friend or kid or w/e) 80$
1 game 79.99
Including Québec taxes that's like 650$
Lol
So $560 CAD before taxes.
Console $300
Pro controller $70
1 game $60
$430 USD before taxes
So really, bitch about Quebec's taxes before you bitch about them overpricing your vidya.
I'm not trying to convince you it is or isn't worth that amount of money, I'm just saying complaining about how much more expensive it is in CAD is stupid. The difference comes down to regional taxes more than actual differences in base prices.
Just because it's a bigger number doesn't mean it actually costs (much) more. Otherwise Japan would be furious, it costs them almost 30 grand for one of these. I could buy a car for that much.
Still no mention of bluetooth compatibility
The pricing is just about what I expected.
What I didn't expect, after leaving the WiiU to die a long time ago, was the complete lack of software.
Is there a cliff notes version anywhere? All I heard is they're charging for online services now which is a huge hit for me.
Cliff note of what? There's a new "type" of rumble that's as gimmicky as motion controls, 2 launch titles, and the thing charges with Usb3. Idk what else there is to talk about. Oh, a mario game with no firm release date.
