between the extremely small library (next to 0 exclusive games until at least Summer) and price for all the extra stuff, just not feeling the Switch at all. Honestly not really sure what Nintendo is trying to do other than sell to all the fanboys who will buy anything they put out anyway (kinda like Apple).
feels like the most half baked, unfinished console launch ever, but it's pretty par for the course with Nintendo
I'm sure I'll end up buying this if they release a new Monster Hunter for it, but otherwise I just can't see myself care in any capacity.
Since the system is using diskless media, I'b be surprised if it used much of anything for local storage(maybe some cache files at most).
The game cart read speed is roughly the same as the internal read speed, so there's not really any benefits to "installing" games, installs will basically be for digital only purchases; and given the above, physical copies will basically be preferable to digital unlike WiiU and other systems.
Such a disappointing launch. Should I still sell my wi-u or keep for Zelda? The frame rate issue on the switch is making me wait for the switch.

I'm keeping mine since between Wii U and 3DS, you should be able to play nearly all of the Zelda games currently released in their best iterations. I think only the DS games aren't available for digital download, but can still be played physically with their cart or using a flash cart with a hacked 3DS. It may not seem like much now, but when I'm old and want to revisit the entire series, it'll be nice only pulling out 1 handheld and 1 console.
Also, I'm hearing that X2 is scheduled to release in 2017 for NA, but that's probably not going to happen. Even if it does, I might just wait until price drops/sales to pick up the console and game. I'm not excited at the moment, but I'm hoping it'll at least be like the 3DS, having a very poor launch reception, but being a success overall once it picks up momentum.
It seems like a lock that people are going to buy this junk, play Zelda, and then wait eons for another AAA title. This time, Nintendo just wants you to pay a lot more to do so. Yikes...
They should have waited until next November to release this, had Mario available as well, and it would have been the hottest holiday item by a mile. This is massive failure.

Nintendo has truly lost their goddamn minds.instead of having some sort of bulky gamer headset, you’ll be able to do it right off your smartphone, put in your earbuds that you use for your standard mobile device. We think that’s a pretty sweet solution. That’s part of the overall opportunity that we see in a subscription service.
Like, did it never occur to anyone deciding the bullshit spin on this that you can already use regular headphones/earbuds with current consoles?
Lollllllll plus people want to use those "bulky" headsets because they provide QUALITY surround sound audio. This is becoming a joke..
iirc, rumor was zelda wouldnt be ready for launch and everyone flipped their shit. Now its going to be ready at launch but with issues. This is what you asked for. I dont see nintendo releasing a game with issues like that without a patch or something.
Nintendo keeps doing same mistake tho, underpowered console with 2 gen old tech and no games to play.
I only buy nintendo consoles for 1st party games, 3rd party support is irrelevant to me.i bought wii for twilight princess. Wii u for smash. Ill probably hold off on switch til black friday sales and bundles.

Nintendo used to be innovators and progressive in nature (SNES / N64). They took chances and put out the most powerful hardware.
A long time ago, their innovation became 100% gimmick. Here's to hoping they one day become strictly software developers and lose the hardware.
To be fair, Nintendo has never done voice chat
Also, most people I know use 3rd party voice chat for most things. There is a reason a lot of people have switched to Discord for voice chat for multiple games. Even games like Destiny most people don't use in game chat (but I do admit, PSN's party chat is pretty good)
Also:
What exactly is the huge appeal about Mother 3 being released stateside? Do niggas not internet in 2017? Shit has been available in English for years.
Surround Sound headsets are giant smoking piles of marketing doodoo, but I digress.
Yes in game chat functions are generally garbage, but both Xbox and PSN chat is pretty damn good these days, alongside the myriad of choices on PC. Not even including the option of chat on the system and relegating it to a cellphone app is just pathetic.
As strange as it may sound - Some people actually like having physical (for collection/playing) or legally purchased digital versions of a game lol. The M3 translation wasn't bad, but I know plenty of people growing up who still to this day want to officially buy M3, similar in how I know a ton of people who'd play a cleaned up version of Starfox 2 in its original form and not split up between the following 3 games post N64.
I refuse to believe anyone would actually prefer physical copies for any reason other than wanting to sell games back one you're done. And if you wanted to legally purchase Mother 3 to support the devs, nothing is stopping anyone from buying a Japanese version and playing the translated rom.
I hate shit internet and I like seeing the box art and also when games actually had a god damn MANUAL to read to pass the time when shit takes forever to install now.
