Yet another generation of this bullshit just further entrenches me in the realm of PC gaming.

Nintendo can't get their shit together and is going to be forced to leave the console market entirely by the next go around. It makes me sad to seem them do this to themselves but it also leaves me very bitter and jaded.

    And there's my answer.

Guess I'll wait and see after the hype wears down since I don't see myself considering one til late July since I'm not on vacation til August.

I was planning on preordering Zelda WiiU today and ignoring the switch for quite a while (or entirely) but after some further review I could actually see myself undocking the console and possibly playing from the couch or bedroom while the wife does whatever - this way I'm not hogging the 70" TV in the living room the whole time. That and I have no real reason to have the Wii U at all other than zelda since I haven't touched it ever.

edit: think I'll become a power up rewards pro, trade in wiiu, and cancel pro to get the bonus.

Good choice. if the Switch sells terribly like WiiU, We may see an early price cut around the holidays and if Mario releases on time to make a possible Switch purchase. I'm guessing we'll also see some sort of bundle for the holidays as well.

If your concern is playing off TV you can already do that on the Wii U no? If the only reason you'd be getting the switch is for Zelda (since there's no other reason to get it atm) when you've already got the Wii U what's the point?

I gotta be honest. I completely forgot it could do that lol. The only benefit is the big trade in bonus since I have the black wiiU.

Does this feature even work on all games?

I tried to set up Splatoon for the kid of a friend, and I couldn't figure out how to get it to play without the television (though I didn't try very hard).

If you really want to gamble by speculating on a Nintendo console, wait for the inevitable SNES Classic.

The range on the Wii U tablet isn't that great. I can barely go 15 feet before it loses connection. Despite already owning a Wii U I am getting the Switch specifically for Zelda (and a few games down the road) I would get it for the Wii U, but I like the idea of portability. I could play on the train ride to/from work or on my break at work in the designated gaming room.

What retailer has the best deal atm? Assuming game stop since they take consoles. Still a dangerous bet since we don't know a thing about backwards compatibility on this. I have a few digital downloads I do not want to lose...

I'd bet my left nut that less than 1% of gamers want a portable home console.

And the 1% who are genuinely concerned about having a full on portable gaming experience probably have a decent laptop.

Seems like nintendo was mostly aiming for this thing to perform better as a handheld than an actual home console. like everything will look good and run 720/60 fps.
docked mode will be up in the air. hopefully the pokemon series comes to it.

If they release a full on Monster Hunter I would buy the switch in a second. Until then I'm just not really interested since I'll likely be able to play Zelda on Cemu at better fidelity/performance then the Switch version.

And unless you're spending hours on a bus or taking long shits, you're better off with laptops on the market that are already significantly more powerful than the switch with an exponentially more robust library.

Rumors that Fire Emblem Fates: Revelation could come to the switch according to looking at source code on Nintendo website (although likely a site error):

    (also Fire Emblem Direct tomorrow)

    Wonder Boy: The Dragon’s Trap
It was hard to keep the secret, but finally we can spill those edamame beans... Wonder Boy: The Dragon’s Trap is coming to the Nintendo Switch in 2017!

A reunion was held in mushroom kingdom under a veil of absolute secrecy, where Nintendo suggested we could bring the game over to their upcoming platform. Needless to say it was a unique opportunity and as soon as we saw the system we knew we wanted to get the game on it. We started working on it and well, HERE WE ARE!

The game plays fantastic on the Nintendo Switch! It runs at a smooth 60 FPS, the screen and colors in handheld mode are amazing, and it plays just as well in full HD when docked. We can’t wait to show you more!
    Syberia 3
Microids is proud to announce the development of Syberia 3, the upcoming game of Benoit Sokal, on the highly-anticipated Nintendo Switch. The release date of Syberia 3 on Nintendo Switch will be announced soon.

“We can’t wait to see Syberia fans discover Kate Walker’s new adventure on Nintendo Switch.” said Elliot Grassiano, Vice President of Microïds. “ Nintendo, with the Switch, brings one more time a whole new innovative vision to the game industry and we are proud to be part of it.”

    About Syberia 3

Impersonating Kate Walker, players will benefit from a brand new way to freely explore striking landscapes and circumvent their mysteries and puzzles in ways they have not experienced before.

The story begins when Kate is found left for dead on a shore by the Youkol tribe, a nomadic people caring for their snow ostriches during migration. Trapped, prisoners in the city of Valsembor, they will have to find together a way to continue their journey in a chase against their enemies and unexpected challenges. While at the same time, Kate’s past is catching up with her…

The release date of Syberia 3 on Nintendo Switch will be announced soon. It will be fully dubbed in French, English, Russian, Polish and German with subtitles in English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Dutch, Russian, Polish, Czech, Korean, Brazilian Portuguese, simplified and traditional Chinese. The original soundtrack is composed by Inon Zur (Fallout 4, Dragon Age, Prince of Persia), who has already scored Syberia 2.
