I wish you could keep the strap on while putting the joycons on the tablet. Ah well

Also even though it's not plugged into an arc port. My switch keep changing my tv input each 3-4 min while docked ( and not using it)
My tv is a ks8000
My left joycon is totally jank.
Looks like this problem will not be fix by a patch.

I went to the Store today to buy Zelda WiiU and they already having people returning the Switch thinking they have a defected System due to that issue. although had to get his system replaced due to the duck scratching the screen. not sure if that a common issue. In its first detailed acknowledgment of connectivity issues that some gamers are having with its new console’s controllers, Nintendo has offered suggestions—some of them incredible—about how to alleviate the problem.
Nintendo advises that people don’t put the Switch behind a TV, near an aquarium or “within three to four feet of another wireless device, such as a wireless speaker or a wireless access point.” Doing so can disrupt the signal the console sends to its detachable Joy-Con controllers.
The wireless thing is pretty generic. Source: Too many years of doing tech support and fixing wireless issues. Way more often than not it was "Wait you have your five devices stacked on top of each other?" It's p. normal to to try and keep about 4-5 feet between most wireless devices. The aquarium thing is a new one to me.
Scored one last night from Amazon because I had prime and waited until 3AM. Just waiting for delivery some time today.
I kinda like the joycons but man zelda hard to get used to key mapping, pro controller might be in near future.
Was originally upset at this showing, then almost jumped in cause of trade in credits, and am now glad I didn't cause fuckkkk that.
Early adopters, etc, but those controller sync issues are beyond alarming. Any other Nintendo release have these type of issues?
I didn't want to be a day 1 cause I knew there'd be issues, but I don't see or have anything like that video.
I play on a TV that's a good 15-20 feet away, joycons work great, I have bigger hands and a million wireless devices. No problems. Even connected to 5ghz instead of 2.4 when the 5 is farther away and probably less stable.
I ran botw off dock for about 4 hours yesterday and landed at 36% I had brightness down all the way and didn't have any problems seeing anything. Zero desync issues overall rather happy with how much battery life I got out of it under those conditions. I find it absolutely crazy that the joycons can get ~20hrs out of their battery before they are fully dead, granted they are fairly small devices not a lot of internals to really suck power but still.
The dock doesn't seem to charge fast.
The switch was at 1% this morning, played for 2h and it's at 27%
Unless it charges faster when console is off
Unless you have one of them fast charge ports that work with certain phones. Those are gods gift for the current age.
Does anyone know if I have to use the power cord that came with the switch? Wife has a phone that uses USB C so I have a ton of C cords plugged into strategic places around the house and coming out of the couch. Most consoles have some type of brick or converter but this one seems kinda normal like I can charge it with any USB C I have.
No/Yes.
For charging the switch any 5.0v source will charge it(some slower than others, depending on amperage), so any USB C charger(or any USB charger with a port adapter), will work.
However when actually playing games it draws @15v(the included charging device is a switching(lol) power inverter), so well it can be charged from basically anything, when actually playing games, most common USB chargers won't be able to put out enough power to keep the battery from draining, so they're not a reliable *permanent* replacement(unless you buy an inverter that's identical or better).
That said, even a charger that doesn't output enough power will significantly extend the life of a single battery charge, so you might get say, 6-10h of play as opposed to 3-5 with a common USB charger.
Edit: Also keep this in mind vis a vis battery banks, any USB battery bank will work, but because of what I said above, a typical 5v battery bank will not keep the internal battery from draining, only slow it down.
tl;dr "It's situational, but as as a general rule, assume it won't be able to fully supply it with power well running".
Just in case anyone was wondering, the Wii U's wired LAN adapter works on the Switch, of course only in console mode. Good for those of us that prefer wired connections for gaming.
