Most people weren't dumb enough to buy a Wii U lol. There are Switches here on shelves, so maybe it is just area to area.

Yeah it didn't have the same issue cuz nobody bought one. I preordered and got day 1 because i was afraid of a Wii situation and wasnt gunna take chances with monster hunter otw. Turned out to be very easy to find.

There hasn't even been an official announcement for Monster Hunter, Idk why you'd be worried about picking it up so early.

My local Best Buy when I checked overnight had Pro Controller in stock that I reserved.

I went and picked it up first thing in the morning, and it was the only one they received for some reason. Score :D

If GameCube games come to virtual console I will be so beyond fucking ecstatic.

Realistically I would not expect Wii U games to appear on the Switch unless they do full on re-releases, simply throwing them up in an emulation shell like most Virtual Console games wouldn't work.

As we're seeing with cemu, Wii U emulation requires a decent amount of horsepower, far more then a mobile ARM processor could provide.

I think the bigger issue you guys are missing is that this console doesn't have a hard drive. 256GB microsd cards aren't exactly cheap and downloading multi-gig disc games (along with Switch-native digital releases) would chew through a 64/128GB card pretty quickly.

If I have deleted a paid-for digital-only game on a console in my life, I can't recall when. For reasons I cannot articulate fully, it feels like the equivalent of throwing a physical game in the trash.

I am aware that most services will allow you to redownload previously purchased games at no extra cost. Until they don't.

I'll see how much indie games end up tearing through my data. I'll end up buying a game card holder later on. Amazon Prime is gonna keep me buying physical retail with their discount.

I believe you can still redownload MVC2/MVC:O/Scott Pilgrim/etc. if you originally bought them. But in the case of P.T. they simply removed it from the servers altogether.

Additionally, at some point one has to consider that MS will eventually be shutting down the 360 XBL servers (just as they shut down the OG Xbox servers). At that point, you either have it or you don't. That day is obviously a long ways off for the Switch, but it's not never.

I just got one from gamestop when i traded in my zelda wii u version, they had 2.

Pretty much all the stores I went to had at least 1 pro controller. Shop around at local walmarts targets and Gamestops

Around here in northern Illinois, everywhere's sold out that ive checked. Both walmarts i called were put, went to 4 Targets and three best buys. Gamestop said they're sold out at their stores everywhere in a 150mi radius.
