By the fact that they use proprietary physical media, NintenCards if you will, means they are acting like mean Mr. Capitalist here. There already exists many types of small physical media to fit their needs, some of which that are cheaper and more dense... like every single fucking SD card on the market. These cards also have the benefit of being sourced from many distributors, not just Nintendo.
And that still doesn't address the fact that publishers/devs are forced to pay more in order to produce the same physical media that they could for Nintendos competitors with products that have a much larger install base. There is absolutely zero reason to force this on pubs/devs, other than monetary which in turn gets passed onto people like you and me. This is even before you take into consideration how many devs want to develop or port to the Switch when it's just less money, less install base, and more work. This does nothing but disincentive development on the Switch, something Nintendo has struggled with for decades.
To be clear, my problem isn't Nintendo doing what companies do, it's people acting like this is NBD when its exactly business decisions like these that made previous generations of Nintendo consoles fail. Come on now.
edit: oh, and they are even barred from passing the savings of digitals sales to consumers. What the fucking fuck? Of course theres a good reason for it, but it has nothing to do with the consumer and everything to do with profit for a business strategy that worked so great they abandoned it when they made the jump to the disk media.
So I snagged a Switch from Amazon today. Other than Zelda anything else you guys would suggest?
Got mine during the 12 minutes bestbuy.com had stock. What accessories do people recommend?
Been trying to find a good stand, but the Hori stand is out of stock everywhere. Also looking at cases, but half the ones on amazon the reviewers claim they all have a terrible smell. Then there's charging options...too much to consider~!
Blaster Master
Shovel Knight
Zelda
Snipperclips
Mario Kart 8 in 3 weeks (if you dont already have)
think secret of mana tripack is coming soonish?
Zelda and maybe that snake game until MK8.
From what I've seen on reddit the Switch version of Snake Pass is pure booty compared to the other versions.
Thank you, I haven't checked and you saved me money I can use for other pointless things.
There's really no sugar coating the fact that the lineup this year is sparse. Honestly I'm just waiting for someone to jailbreak the thing so I can get a fat SD card and load up every SNES rom known to man on it.
Has anyone tried tetris x puyo puyo? Or is it not out?
not hard to google it >.>
I have it preordered, i looooooooooooove tetris and there arent any good only versions to play, tetris splash on the 360 was good but very small community and i sold my xbox.
debating on getting it on ps4 over switch if better community, but I might end up buying both versions.
Another noob question: Has anyone tried to use a USB C cable with a Power Bank? Curious how well that works.
How about this?
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1
My understanding is that unless the cable being used is USB-C to USB-C the charging speed will be very limited, and may not be able to keep up with the drain of the battery if you're playing Zelda.
