Wouldn't surprise me if they blame tracking sites for the drop in player base

Yah, until they fix the in app radar I can't even comprehend how they're complaining about the out of app radars. I tried Pokevision for a bit but it sucked and frankly I agree with radars taking the fun out of the game (Which is what the in game radar has done because its fucking pointless now).
Hopefully they fix and update the In game radar to act more like it did in the trailer... that would be so great...
Pokenotify has been taken down from the google play store.
New update gets rid of footprints all together. Also you cant transfer starred Pokemon.
Updates shown:
Trainer customization even after creating a character
No footprints on the nearby list
New "dangerous areas" dialog box
New icons for achievements
New options on Pokémon info screen. Faster transferring?
I can't tell if they're just so incompetent they're removing a feature instead of fixing it, or if its laying the ground work for a numbers based system thats more dynamic.
I wish they'd fix the tracker and add in cardinal directions to it instead :/ too many times me and my co-workers would spot a bulbasaur or something just to have no idea where it is because the nearby list is shit... then have someone use a radar site to find it.
I can only hope this is the beginning of a new feature for distance tracking, unless they intend to give their blessing on the use of third party radars. Trying to find pokemon with no radar/footprints/distance indicator whatsoever is fucking ridiculous.
353/400 from my 2nd Garados and a 95% Magikarp waiting. I evolved an 83 Magikarp before I knew about the IV calculators.
Do pre evolution abilities matter (i.e. Do they change when you evolve). Just caught a 900 Ponya with flame charge (25) as their secondary while I have a 675 ponya with flame wheel (100)
Their abilities can change and you may not end up with similar moves.

Probably.
I'd still label it as incompetent to the point of removing it instead of fixing it, but I imagine their focus was on stability before these things so people could actually play (Which seems to be working as the servers have been fantastic, which might actually be because of popularity drop but I don't have numbers on that). Still to remove it instead of fixing it (even if to add relater once fixed) makes me believe it will be unfixed for a long time.
I hope they replace it with something better... Directional pointers or meters like in the trailer would be so gooood![]()
I don't think it was "broken", pretty sure they stopped some of the interactivity purposefully (footsteps, map of where you found a pokemon) to lessen the load on the servers. Being able to play and not have footsteps is better than not being able to play at all so I'm fine with it. Kind of a damned if you do, damned if you don't situation for these poor guys.
It would be good if they replaced the footsteps with something else. However, being as they want to root out these websites that find Pokemon for you (and it is in their best interest to do so considering they're going to be trying to sell a wristband that does just that), it may be that they're thinking of completely changing how Pokemon are populated server-side, so those 3rd party applications no longer work. Niantic has to know by now that people will soon figure it out and make new apps no matter what, because that is The Way of the Interwebs, but it would likely suffice for them to break everyone's apps for a few days coinciding with the launch of the wristband.
Of course, which is why I said they seem to have been focused on server stability, which they're doing well as i've had 0 problems in the last week or so, Stability is either on point and they've been working on it hard or people have stopped playing but I imagine its the former.
But as for damned if you do and damned if you dont? Can't say I agree.
Probably a good call on their part if this is the reason. It would be good if they replaced the footsteps with something else. However, being as they want to root out these websites that find Pokemon for you (and it is in their best interest to do so considering they're going to be trying to sell a wristband that does just that).
Why isn't there an EXP reward for earning medals? :-/
Medals need to give outfits based on what they are. Getting the first level of backpacker would get you the shoes. Getting the medal after that would be the bag, then the pants, shirt, etc.
It seems the update gave some more shirts and pants though. I dont remember all of these.
The medals are meant to be epeen for when they open profiles to be viewed by anyone. Ingress has a similar system and can also be linked to a Google social media account for further exposure.
Epeen sucks. Gimme outfits, thats a good idea!
Pokemon Dress up, like X and Y :D
Guess I got myself soft banned lol...![]()
