Aw. I haven't had one since the update, but I guess that was just luck. But it usually happened to me when my phone's connection moved from 4G to something else (H+ or 3G for instance). The game does not respond well when the connection is interrupted in the slightest. Not being able to sit in the background without completely rebooting is pretty bad too.

Yeah, p.sure it happened because I jumped WiFi spots in my hotel. If I'm doing anything other than looking at my pokemon while walking more than 50ft in this hotel I freeze up and have to restart.

Encountered another new "feature" with the update. When the game loads, if the server cannot locate a GPS signal, the map will not populate. Sucks for areas with spotty connections.

I had the gps signal loss all the time when I would enter buildings from the start of the games launch. I actually found out, for me at least, that when the gps signal pops up, I turn my phone onto wifi mode, and even if there's no wifi connection near by, it'll clear it up and populate. Been testing it since Friday, and the amount of Pokemon I've caught at work Friday and Saturday have quadrupled, to the point I run out of balls because I'm catching 5-10 Pokemon a hour from all the lures tourists drop throughout the building and the stops can't keep up with actual pokeballs.

Niantic had an easy pass to a buttload of money and still managed to fuck it up. I''m not a big reddit guy; I consider myself part of the casual crowd that's no way in hell going to walk aimlessly within a X radius for however long to catch a fucking pidgey. All because the pokemon on your nearby list may or may not be somewhere close somewhere soon in maybe the right direction.

Like I said before, it was a fun idea when the novelty of your childhood was fresh in your mind. But nah. This shit is lame and expect the playerbase to drop exponentially once the fad dies down and people realize this is barely a game to begin with lol.

This game has potential. I believe it really does.

Its just, we all heard of a new awesome kid moving into town. When he showed up, he was a fat kid that was a bit dumb, had no manners and made promises he didn't keep. Everyone was okay with him. Not happy, but no one hated him.

He was starting to make friends who knew more than him and together things were good

Now, his parents took him out of school and are going to home school him and restrict his diet.

So, now everyone is pissed that they did that.

Really though, all they needed was the ability to battle wild pokemon and level up your starters/other pokemon. Right now My starter is actually my weakest pokemon sitting around 56CP. The next Charmander I see is most likely going to be 10x more powerful. To me that's not enjoyable. There is 0 relationship building with pokemon with this kind of system, and that to me sucks.

Well, it wasn't really meant to be an exact copy of a main line game... we already have the main games for that. But I get what you're saying. I wondered why a starter was even included because it was so weak and wasn't useful for anything but an early entry in the Pokedex. If we're not using our Pokemon to battle except in Gyms, and then only when we've got high enough CP Pokemon, there's really no point to having a starter except to recall the nostalgia of choosing one. Well... I wonder what they could do though. Going through a whole battle with a wild Pokemon doesn't seem like the right answer, either.

If they ever did it. customizable PVP battles. You can set the CP and various other shit before the battle. Have Gyms that are made for <900CP people. Shit like that would make things doable for people who aren't botting around or have crazy luck. The average person, if you will

I think this game would have gained a lot by delaying release completely until some of the intended features currently missing were ready. Like trading and duels to name a few.

It just feels like the game is lacking. It was incredibly fun the first few days, but right now when the only thing you can do is either sit by lures or farm Pidgeys, Rattatas and Drowzees all day on end to evolve it just falls flat. There's no way to "show off", as even if you stick a 3500 Dragonite in a gym, a group of lvl 18 players with 1000 CP 'mons can easily capture the gym from you. Medals serve no purpose what-so-ever since you don't even get anything from them (imo they should at the very least give new outfits) and there's no downside to sit at home and GPS spoof since the worst thing that happens is you get a soft ban for an hour, meaning botters and GPS spoofers will get ahead of you fast.

They need to fix tracking and fast unless they want to lose a lot of money, and they also need to act some more interaction between players like duelling and trading. That would at least hold off the masses for a little while.

They also really should consider adding a "Colosseum" of sorts as an ode to the original games (gym battles) where you can win badges and perhaps trade badges for items/candies/gold.

Depending on how events will work, legendary pokémon are almost guaranteed to be much, much weaker than any decent pokémon you can catch in the wild due to the limited candy you can get to power them up, which will feel kind of lame. And in that case even legendary pokémon will just be yet another addition to the pokédex.

They really do need to add a way to feel some more sense of accomplishment or the game will die. Very few people will be content with farming pidgeys for a month+ to get to the next trainer level, because right now that's all there is to do.

Not that I'm aware of, Niantic has forced all of the ones I know of to close down and have added an IP ban to various "known" hosts.

If they funneled half of the resources they've spent to close them down in to fixing the tracker instead, shit would be fixed by now.

This game is a good example of how much fans and new players have wanted a multiplayer interactive Pokemon game and how massively successful it would be.
Its also another example of how nintendo/pokemon company continue to refuse to give the people what they want and would rather not make fuck tons of money and have happy customers.
