Hyper Beam isn't bad but STAB exists in this game so ideally you want a slow move the same type as the pokemon.

I mean the first thing it says on the official website for it is "The device connects to a smartphone via Bluetooth low energy and notifies you about events in the game—such as the appearance of a Pokémon nearby—using an LED and vibration"
I have to assume it will have an actual tracking function, by itself "a Pokemon has popped near you...somewhere...up to you to find it" is pretty pointless. But it only tracks pokemon you have already caught before, so if something you never caught before pops and you're not looking at your phone you're SOL.
It cuts closer to what they actually intended for the game without the outright "cheating" of being able to look at every pokemon spawn everywhere.
Looks like they're axing botters. All they'd need next is gps spoofing and we'd have salvage ban tier salt mines.

unknown6 has been successfully reverse engineered once again and trackers should be coming back online soon
Turns out all that rage over Articuno was Niantic's fault.
No info on how it happened, disgruntled employee, random CSR derp, etc, but they removed the 'legendaries' (I only saw Articuno mentioned anywhere) and Dittos that had gone out to people who had reported a bug and received them in return. Seems the people that did the live stream are still getting blasted on social media though, hell of a thing to get rolled for.“We recently noticed that a few Legendary Pokémon got into a few accounts when they shouldn’t have. To preserve the game’s integrity and as a measure of fairness, we have rectified the situation and revoked the legendary Pokémon from the Trainers’ accounts.”
I'm sure some of you have seen this already but here is a nice, simple tool to see the possible CP your evolved pokemon will have.

So the type change glitch happened to me today. I caught some trash mobs while someone else was driving on the way home. Then I pull up my screen and my most recent mons are a 700 Porygon and a Mankey. Totally not at all what I was catching.
Well, for whatever reason, they decided the quickest method to stop hackers/bots was to break the radar. I think that goes along with what I said, and why I had quotes around the word wrong. It is a problem if their player base perceives it as a dick move, but it's still their priority to make. That isn't to say their R&I department isn't on the case; just that their tactical nuke's were ready for deployment. Let the arms race begin.
I'm with you that gyms have always poorly been implemented. I've no interest in them at all, but I do wonder if they have any numbers on how many do gym battles vs just collecting things.
Went out to get gas, checked on a whim. Random venasaur ftw. Only took 3 regular balls to catch.

I have 28/30 and 15/15 Magikarp. 36 more candies to go to evolve D:
Whats the best moveset for Gyarados?
Bite and Hydro Pump.
Bite and Dragon Breath (the primary options) are a wash in terms of DPS. But more things are weak to Dark (2) than they are to Dragon (1). So take that as you will.
Hydro Pump (secondary/charge) is the prize though. Neither of my 2 Gyarados' have it. 118 candies away from my next one.
For now, until they inevitably rebalance it again.
Spoof bans are coming.14 hours ago
