Evloved my first 2 1k+ CP 'mon today!
1209 Flareon and 1152 Vaporeon
So they just renamed the nearby list to sightings and added grass...... How is that any different than before you still can't track
was reading the Reddit thread and people are saying the Pokemon listed earlier(higher) in the list are closer than ones later on the list. at my parents house so can't go out and try looking for stuff to confirm
That's been true since day 1.
Right, "stress" on the servers that have been quite stable ever since they stopped releasing in more countries.
Not sure how to feel about this update yet. Fixing the throws is nice. I fucking hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, HATE that they are taking the SquareEnix route and "hiding" their most important changes to the core gameplay in vague update notes. TELL US HOW TO PLAY THE GAME WE NEED TO KNOW THE RULES YOU CUNTS. Now we have to experiment like fucking scientists as a community to try to understand how this sightings thing works while we argue and speculate with one another about how it really may or may not actually work.
Maybe they just added a grass background? Maybe its listed in order of closest pokemon? Maybe it's not? Who knows.
The little sightings screen on the bottom right is no longer reversed.
ANDROID WHAT'S NEW
- Added a dialog to remind Trainers that they should not play while traveling above a certain speed; Trainers will have to indicate they aren’t the driver
- Fixed a bug that prevented ”Nice,” ”Great,” and “Excellent” Poké Ball throws from awarding the appropriate XP bonuses
- Enabled the ability for Trainers to change their nickname one time, so please choose your new nickname wisely
- Resolved issues with the battery saver mode on iOS and re-enabled the feature
- Other fixes

So a couple of things. I just wanted to compare my in-game radar to the actual spawn locations using the live radar scanner PC program, and the order of the game radar did seem to match up with closest to furthest.
Also the game was released on July 6th, and the nest spawns changed on July 29th, a little under a month of a duration. So if the nests will be changing in a predictable monthly pattern then they may change again around August 27th/28th. Otherwise maybe it's just unpredictable. But maybe get your nest Pokemons snatched up before the end of the month in case.
Now the nearest pokemon list doesnt flip flop when you open it up vs the mini view.
It would seem the pokemon nearest right is closest.
edit: nvm, just got lucky. Game still fucked
I hate the sightings list, its fucking stupid. Just a list of shit that might be near you... Electabuzz just appeared near me but I'm not going out block by block to try and find him specially since they despawn anyway.
Apparently the nearby list now accurately refreshes and doesn't show stuff that'd despawned.
Did the update, on the drive home this morning, I noticed a LOT more Pokémon up for capture and a much bigger variety than normally in that area
The Nearby lists seems much more accurate. It also appears to only show what's within your vicinity (300 meters?) instead of the 9 closest Pokemon, some of which could be 300+ meters away.
Also seems like more things are stored client side now. After capturing something on my Nearby list, it no longer showed up. Happened twice and was immediate. They are trending in the right direction with it.
Apparently some people got the new tracker.

What i saw on radar, what was actually nearby, then radar after. And a shot of a level 10 gym with swveral lvl 34-37 trainers with seemingly chinese names.
