This update, more specifically the buddy feature, is causing a critical flaw on my Samsung Galaxy S5 that causes the battery to go from full to ~5%. I can't even launch the game without this triggering.

Android users can find the APK online
Updated, game works on 1+3, only real diff is that buddy system which tbh isn't much of anything. =/ 3km for a magikarp candy which I'll never get because shitty GPS based tracking systems.
I got tired of waiting and downloaded that apk. No idea what apk is or stands for.
Put Vulpix as my buddy first. Only 77% but I don't come across them often. If I can't find better by the time I get the candy I'll just evolve it. Then Growlithe. There's atleast an active nest for them right now.
Why you guys keep holding out for this game to be good is beyond me. You're just setting yourself up for heartache
Seriously though, trading would be terrible in this game... would remove the need to try for missing pokedex entries.
Try for what, aimlessly wandering around hoping RNG serves up the Pokémon you want?
So instead you trade for the dex entry and never open the app again?
Your logic is terrible. Why catch any pokemon, you're just gonna fill your pokedex and turn off the game when it's complete.
I tend to agree.
I get this game is different than other Pokemon games in a big way, not the least of which is that there is no real "endgame", but Trading isn't only about filling up the Dex, some people use it like that yes, but it is also about getting the best Pokemon of any given type, or finding ones with certain secret abilities / IV's, etc. I wouldn't be trading to find a Rhydon, i'd be trading to find a perfect Ghastly(Or Haunter/Gengar) so I can have a badass Gengar cause he's my favorite Gen1 Final evolution. This will really help people who don't live 1 block in any direction from 18 different Nests like some people
Its not even like its a "Print Free Max Level" button, a perfect (X) would be quite pricey in terms of a fair trade, so you'd still have to find something good. Got a perfect Graveler but dont like golem? Trade it for perfect haunter, win win. no longer are you stuck with a Pokemon too good to toss but you simply don't want to use as its not your thing. If they wanted to make it to where you still needed to "work" for evolutions, just make only Stage 1's tradeable, I'd hate that concept but I'd be okay with it as a compromise if they absolutely needed a compromise to exist for their "Balance". But Trading is a necessary part of a Pokemon game, it was basically the goddamn foundation of the game since Gen1, where you NEEDED to trade in order to get all 150 Pokemon. If you've created a Pokemon game that can't allow trading without it completely destroying the balance of the game, You fucked up, you're screwed, go back to the drawing board and figure out where your game fails at existing and start over.
If they're worried about the "I'm done" people, they need to realize their game has a finite lifespawn regardless, especially with no real motivated "endgame". This game needs a better PVP (and combat, in general) system, as well as on the spot trainer battles. If you add a reason to play other than throwing balls, then trading won't be a destructive force to the game.
Theres a lot of solutions to this "problem", and it all involves Niantic not being incompetent. I'm willing to wait for trading while they pad out the game and add more fluff to it, but to just dismiss it entirely would make this game even more questionable when it comes to it being a long term time investment for me. I can't trust a Pokemon game so broke it has to throw out critical function of Pokemon :\
Edit: If they wanted too, they could add P2P Trading, as well as a "GTS" type trading. for P2P you can trade anything, but for "GTS" you have to have owned the Pokemon you're trading for in order to receive it (Which is I believe one of the restrictions in the first GTS), that way if trading with a friend or stranger in person, you can trade anything, but if you go online to find trades, you can only receive Pokemon you already own (I.E it being useful for finding perfect/better versions of Pokemon you want)
But we also have to take into consideration there are Pokemon completely uncatchable in certain regions (Hatch-able, but uncatchable).
Pretty sure it was debunked that you can get the region exclusives from eggs.
Kral send me Mr. Mimes, kthx.
I am having an issue where if I have a bunch of eggs and I incubate all of that at once and they are all the same km... they hatch at the same time. The issue with this is that when they do, I only get the first hatched pokemon and I lose the other pokemon. No idea where they are, checked my pokedex and pokemon and I have no new pokemon, or old pokemon that weren't there before. Pissed because that was three 5km eggs and I only got 1 pokemon, which I already had
I would like them to put a few "CPU" Gyms in major/minor cities. Where you can battle the CPU and earn badges the first time and addtional items every time after that. Maybe have a time limit where you can only battle that a specific CPU gym once every 72 hours to avoid spamming.
Have a 6 v 6 battle. Where you have to strategically pick your team and the CPU is based on your level to make it challenging.
I wish they would add a "World Trade Center" type building where you can go and actually travel in the game to an area with pokemon that you cannot catch in the U.S other than hoping and praying your egg is worth something.
